Stopped in to try the new place in town and it is really cool! Great vibes and a lot packed into a small package. We were sat outside and the patio really blocks the street noise as fans and misters kept the mosquitos away.
Great appetizers! Really nice to have a new selection in town. Loved the spicy tuna on fried rice and onion ring tower. They seem to really push the burgers. Wife had the BBQ bacon with bison patty and I went with their signature bison burger. Everything is a la carte so you have to get fries separate, I didn't because I had the app. My wife's burger was huge and looked delicious with melted cheese and big strips of bacon and sauce.
They brought mine and the runner didn't know what burger it was and I was like I ordered the signature burger so that ugly thing couldn't be mine. Turns out I was wrong... I thought it might've been another tables plain burger but nope. That ugly, sat in the window until the top was shot, burned to a crisp with oily cheese and tiny whisps of cherry peppers was mine. I even told the server that it was seriously the ugliest thing I'd seen and he just says "yeah, it's pretty basic".
I forgot to mention we had kids with us and they were served first, cool, I like that. But I like it more when there's not a 25 minute difference from our food coming. So I'm already juggling the full and now tired kids and this seriously ugly $18 burger comes and the waiter even knew that it was awful, didn't offer anything in spite of my mocking the burnt bun and "wimpy" style burger I was served, I just ate it in about 4 bites and got the kids home. I was over it.
Our waiter did really great with everything else, don't let me take away from him, he was awesome, he just didn't know he was dealing with a hungry Dad that would've handled that Dad differently.
Look, I'm critical, I know this and I've been in the business awhile and like having a night out and trying new places. I feel like it wasn't hard to pick up my satire, especially with the ugliest, dryest burger they could serve by itself and they could've at least tried to keep me from this rant but they didn't and I will go a long time not talking about it.
I didn't take a photo because I'm not that guy but now I kinda wish I made...
Read moreSo I was told this place was great This is why I should stop listening to other people. When we got there, the hostess was very nice and welcoming then We Got sat outside, which is fine. She asked us if that was OK. We said yeah. We got the crispy coconut shrimp, which was 10/10, The cheesesteak eggrolls 9/10 My boyfriend got a pizza with prosciutto on top. I don’t remember what it was called, but he said it was really good. I didn’t have any of it when my food came and my daughter’s food came. I kind of tilted my head a little bit at her chicken It was very dark and very, very, very dry. My daughter will literally eat anything from horseradish to Sushi to things that 99% of the kids won’t eat. When she took a bite of this chicken, she looked at me and was like this is nasty mommy I still just tried to encourage her to eat it. I was like maybe you just got a burnt piece. It’s OK. I took my fingers and I broke a piece off and I literally rubbed the outside of the chicken between my fingers and it just crumbled like sand and Last time I checked chicken strips don’t do that and she didn’t want any of it when I squeeze the chicken inside of it no juice came out. It was just straight dried and very stringy and I could just tell by looking at it when they brought it out. I got the garlic Parmesan wings, which literally had a potential I was scraping whatever was on the chicken trying to get the flavor because there was absolutely no sauce I feel like they threw the sauce in a spray bottle and just lightly sprayed the chicken. I couldn’t find one piece of all of the chicken that had enough sauce to literally taste the garlic and Parmesan unless I scraped all of the sauce off of one chicken and put it on another to just to get one bite of flavor. Same thing as well. The chicken was very dry and very stringy. I squeezed it no juice no nothing came out it just shredded.
I really wish they put a lot more sauce On the wings like they do on Instagram that’s what encouraged me to get the wings and I should’ve known social media just fake. I would really hope that if we were to try this place again that they would just put a little bit more love into the food then oh they’re gonna eat it anyways just serve how is even though it’s...
Read moreIn the heart of downtown Redlands, you’ll find a gem known as Finney’s Crafthouse. This family-owned tavern, located within an old bank building on Orange, is a testament to the spirit of reinvention. We walked in on a Friday afternoon and were pleasantly surpirsed to find both parking in their lot and a brief 10 minute wait until our table was ready. We were seated with a perfect view of the bustling bar area. The menu at Finney’s is brief, simplistic, and provides a range of options that are sure to be a hit. From the deviled eggs appetizer to the jalapeño egg burger, each dish is a culinary journey. There was still 20 minutes of happy hour so we quickly reviewed the happy hour menu and made a few selections, the coconut shrimp and buffalo cauliflower. But the true stars of Finney’s are the beers on tap. With a selection that would make any beer enthusiast’s heart flutter, Finney’s boasts an impressive array of local brews and their own signature beers. Each pour is a testament to the craft of brewing, a symphony of hops and barley that dances on the palate. The Trantula Hill Liquid Candy IPA was a definite highlight, with its tropical flavor and slightly crispy hoppy finish. Shortly after ordering our appetizers and drinks, we went in for our main courses. We setlled on a variety of burgers from the Finney burger to the turkey burger. After a short wait, our burgers arrived. They were cooked perfectly and were juicy and savory and were accompanied by a side of wonderfully crispy sweet potato fries. But the magic of Finney’s isn’t just in its food or its beer. It’s in the atmosphere. The happy hour, running from 3-5pm, is a time of camaraderie and cheer. The air buzzes with conversation, laughter, and the clinking of glasses. It’s a celebration of the end of the day, a toast to good times and good company. Finney’s Crafthouse isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a story. A story of a community coming together to share in the simple pleasures of life - good food, good beer, and good company. And in that, Finney’s is a...
