I love this place, I love the ribs and historically I have enjoyed good service. Unfortunately tonight I was let down. 11 plus years of coming here and I feel disappointed in tonight's experience. I waited apx 15 minutes to be asked if I wanted a drink, then apx 30 mins for my food order to be taken. Okay so this isn't the end of the earth, but when you see people around you who came in after you, almost finished before you get your food, that's not so cool.
I did bring this up with out server who came back and quoted "I checked and you waited 25 mins" he said. Again, not so cool. The point isn't the minutes it's the principle. Surver did offer a free beer between two of us, showing he must have realised somewhat we had waited a long while. But again that's not really the point.
We heard other people ask for the manager while we sat waiting, so I doubt we were the only ones who had a not so great experience tonight.
My recommendation Baldys, just say sorry to your customers if they have expressed they have waited a long time, and take care of them. Your business depends...
Read moreSo seated quickly, full dining room of customers is often a great sign. Drinks ordered and arrived. Except for the lemon I asked for twice. Appetizer ordered and arrived in 16 minutes. Fried Okra was nearly fantastic. Salting the dish after the fry is basic but not done this time.I ordered the largest combo plate to ensure this review was as complete as possible. While I sit here awaiting the meal I am taking note of just how much I dislike the seating. Incredibly uncomfortable. Just thought I would mention it. Okay the meal, pulled pork great, brisket wonderful, smoked Turkey delicious. Store bought coleslaw, basic and very disappointing. As for the bbq sauce, I'm not a fan. Basic, lack luster and rather seemed out the Kraft bottle. So in conclusion, Baldy's is a good stop for meal. Service is mostly attentive, food has great elements with some clearly store bought items. Lower star score is mainly to the service. We waited 30 minutes for a box and check. Sarah was our...
Read moreMy second time at Baldy's in 2 years. I was disappointed the first time, but I gave them another chance. I had burnt ends and onion rings. The onion rings were ok. The burnt ends were almost jerky consistency. You couldn't cut them without a knife, and a steak knife would have been best. Burnt ends are supposed to be from the fatty end pieces of brisket and have an almost buttery texture. (I might have even sent them back if my server had checked back with me on how the food was). The guys sitting next to me didn't finish half of their ribs and they looked extremely dried out. The outdoor seating was packed with families. Many reviews say this is the best in Central Oregon. This may be the best bbq restaurant, but that's only because there really isn't another. Many food trucks do a lot better. Most likely won't...
