Huddy's — Restaurant in Redondo Beach

Hudson House was somewhat confusing, because I failed to realize that it was more of a pub or ideal landing spot for a happy hour. My visit was fine and the service was exceptional, but I had trouble selecting a beer that I wanted to enjoy since nothing stood out after running through the options multiple times. People on each of my sides appeared to opt for the cocktail route and seemed to be enjoying them very much. When it came to the food, I felt a bit limited without doctoring items too much to take away from the original way it was meant to be prepared and served. That's on me, not Hudson House.

The Black Shrimp Rice was what I ended up choosing to eat, and it was quite a sizeable portion. Everything was cooked perfectly, but I thought the dish ate with a little too much lime that was slightly overpowering. That's only my opinion, and I expected hints of lime rather than a more pronounced lime flavor. With all of that being said, 90% of the dish was finished and the only reason that 10% was left behind was due to being full.

Overall, the experience was enjoyable, but I'm not sure if I'd return to Hudson House for an actual meal. Popping in for drinks would still be on the table as an option, but I wasn't overly impressed with the menu. Again, that's only my opinion after being ill-prepared and expecting something a little different. I'd still suggest thst others check out Hudson House to form their own opinion, because I don't have anything negative to say. It just didn't speak to me as it would to most others.

So here's the deal. It was bad. When we came in no one came to seat us till we walked up to a table next to one being cleaned. Next we sat at the table waiting to order but had to wait for someone to come to the table next to us to ask her and she went to tell our waitress we were waiting. When she finally got to us we ordered an iced tea and a water. The drinks came. The tea tasted like water with a splash of lemon. We informed them of the bad tea. She took the glass and when she returned she wss holding a water and began to tell us that yea the tea they have sucks and the bartender said that's just how it is. So they tried to sell us something they knew was bad.We had to ask to order our food after the table next to us, whom sat down after us, got their food. Then we ordered our food. We got it. When finished we had to ask someone else for our bill. She said she would inform our waitress. Our waitress came back after going to other tables and actually asked us if we wanted the bill.... We said we wanted the bill, right? Yes we want our bill. We want to leave. Got the bill and gave cash to pay. Still took incredibly long to get the change. Is it odd that all the white people I saw come in were seated and ordered with being served their food before the Asian group? Yea not so cool guys. Yea the food was not bad but the service was atrocious. I doubt I will ever...

Amazing almost hidden gem, in plain sight. Amazing waiter, I appoligies i forgot his nam, but he was very attentive, fast, nice and handled all the tables in the back with ease and a smile. Excellent provider of information regarding the drinks and food too! We all Really enjoyed their happy hour drinks. They were excellent cocktails, awesome bartender! I had the ranch water (combo of tequila lime spritzer/skinny Margareta). The OG was excellent a little sweet (but not true sweet because i wouldn't drink sweet. it's the watermelon and small amount of agave).

The sweet potato fries were very good! My friend liked the salmon, it was too sweet for my taste, but she said she would get it again and it was very good. I loved the kale salad with a light but flavorful dressing, fresh shaved cheese, and sliced dates! I'm not a huge kale fan, but the salad was really, very, very good. I will probably have that as my staple for Hudson house. It was so good! Happy hour food: My pulled pork sliders were above average for So Cal.
