I have ate at the El Grullence on Middlefield growing up but moved to the south and missed it terribly. I came back to visit my hometown and found that they have really expanded with an entire restaurant and even more locations which is amazing. The tacos were just as delicious as I remember and I will miss them while I am back here in Virginia and can't wait to go back just to have some more El Grullense!!!!

It’s not a bad neighborhood taqueria! Today, I had the El Pastor and Chorizo tacos, and both were not bad. Usually, neighborhood taquerias that aren’t famous tend to lack in taste, but this place is decent enough that I think I’ll choose it whenever I’m craving Mexican food in this area! The dishes other people ordered also looked delicious. The staff is friendly, and the portions are pretty good too.

The location is good. I’ve been to this location a couple times. The staff is friendly, and the vibes are good. The food is good but the prices are a little bit too high for what you get. I often times have found gristly chicken in my food and it can sometimes be a little bland. This is a location of convenience.

The overpriced Fresca drinks don't allow for refills... if I had known that I would have got the refillable fountain drink. $4 for a small Fresca with no refills is psychotic.

I got the $12.99 super burrito, boiled chicken, and I chose that meat type because I didn't want white meat, usually boiled chicken is thighs... this was indeed thighs but unfortunately half of the already tiny portion of it inside the burrito was filled with cartilage. 60% of the burrito was whole pinto beans... idk whole beans in a burrito just feels tex mexy to me.... there was Def no sour creme, and the teaspoons worth of guacamole was slapped in a single spot, so I only had guacamole in 1 bite... that was frustrating.

I also got the quesabirrira. Best thing I had there, taste not bad, but for $5?? Maybe $3 would have been somewhat reasonable, it was quite tiny.

Meal total with small Fresca, super burrito and quesabirrira was $24.12 including tax.

I ended up throwing away half the burrito yuck.

I'll never be...

Im not sure how this place have so many good reviews because I was expecting a lot more than what I got. I ordered a special burrito and the beans were undercooked and super super hard, so hard that i actually had to open the burrito to hand pick them out. The carne asada is ground beef, I am not sure if this is normal but it was almost giving the consistency of taco bell taco meat… and they don’t even bother to warm up the outside of the burrito. It was large, but totally inedible and underseasoned. I almost give it 2 stars because while the food was extremely disappointing, the horchata was pretty good and the staff was friendly, but that was literally the worst burrito I have had in my life and I’ve probably tried burritos at more than 50 places. Also the place does look pretty old and it doesn’t look very clean inside, it smells and looks very musty...

Not impressed at all. First of all, I ordered chicken enchiladas with rice and beans for my boss and I and was shocked to see the total come to $34.00. At $17.00 a plate, I was at least expecting delicious food, so I wait and wait and wait some more until my number is called.

Now I could overlook the long wait, and the price might hurt a bit less had the food been exceptional, but I was again disappointed. It's as if they never heard of an enchilada. The chicken wasn't shredded white meat. but instead clumps of dark meat like you'd find in a taco. They had little to no sauce or cheese. I have never seen an enchilada butchered this bad before. The portion was fairly small too. I would expect to pay half the price for that amount of food.

That is the first and last time I ever step foot...
