It's like Russian roulette in a poke order! We've ordered from Go Fish off and on for the past few years, probably once every month or two, and we've been happy with our food, until our last order. We ordered our usual, including an all-ahi bowl, and when we got our order home the ahi was just bad. Wrong texture, terrible flavor, and a rancid smell that came through even over the spicy togarashi aoli. Totally different from what we've received before! A few of us tried bites, so it wasn't just one person's taste, and we sampled a few different equally terrible pieces, so it seemed to be the whole serving of ahi.
When I called the store to let them know both the employee who answered the phone and their supervisor/manager they passed the phone to didn't seem to know what to do. When I suggested that maybe they had a bad batch of ahi, they assured me that their fish "is always good" and told us to "file a claim with the service you ordered with". Since we ordered directly from Go Fish, that wasn't an option. I emailed the only email I could find for Go Fish corporate and received no response going on a month now.
So it's a roll of the dice. Maybe you'll get some great poke! Maybe you'll get rancid ahi! Who knows? Rest assured you won't get a response from Go Fish if you do have a problem...
Read moreNothing notable, nothing bad. Fish was decently prepared, food was fresh, better than some places, would consider eating here again if I were already in the area.
There are a variety of sauces, I could've added the sesame sauce with my bowl at no charge but didn't know what it was (our first time there). While eating I decided it needed more flavor so I asked to have some and had to pay extra so, choose wisely and add sauce at the time they're making your bowl.
There should be some signage directing the eye to them housemade drinks. They are way in the back and not where you can be enticed by them even if you weren't thinking of getting one. This is a big mistake and a missed opportunity for sales on a high margin item. They should get a couple signs that have side lighting to illuminate fluorescent writing to draw attention to the drinks.
We bought bottled drinks which are right in front of you and seem like the only beverages they have. Missed out on Lychee Lemonade.
IF like us, you are from HI it have years of experience eating poke in many places in the island, and have high standards for poke then this would be 1.5-2 stars for you, but I'm trying to take into account the average offerings elsewhere here in which case...
Read moreHave ordered in person for bowls with no real problems. However when it comes to hand rolls (which these days appear to be pre packaged and not fully assembled), there is a... Delay? Where the delay comes from is entirely out of thin air it would seem. I ordered my hand tools and was instructed to wait outside for them. 40 minutes and an entire line of other orders later, I received my three not store prepared rolls.
The problems persist online. When ordering online I will receive my bowl with its proper main items in it, but lacking all the sauce that I ordered, leading me to think that the clowns reading the online orders don't pay too much mind to auxiliary/"""optional""" orders. This has happened to me multiple times. Not very kosher, guys. Between being do-si-do'd around the clock for a simple packaged item and an unfortunate loss of sauce, I am forced to be greatly displeased with the shenaniganizers at this...
