Naranjos Taqueria — Restaurant in Redwood City

This is by far the best taqueria that I have found in the Bay Area.

They have excellent barbacoa, lengua, and pollo. The barbacoa is spicy with a hint of clove. The lengua has a rich, spicy, salsa verde. The pollo has a rich chile colorado style sauce. I usually get three tacos, one of each.

Naranjo's has a killer green hot sauce. It's nuclear and very flavorful.

Burritos are also excellent. The mexican rice is rich and flavorful. (Burritos not served on Sundays.) The combination of a meat, the rice, the salsa verde, make for a symphony of flavors.

The barbacoa, lengua, and pollo are definitely worth a trip. Be sure to ask for a cup of consomme (barbacoa broth). Best time to go is before or after lunch to beat the crowd. They start to run out of things...

Me and my family use to love this place. We always get barbacoa over the weekend to take out and have a great lunch at home. It been a couples of times that the barbacoa it has more grease then meet. We but today and it was very nasty all you can see is grease. I had uploaded a picture so the people can see on how is it. Very, very nasty I won’t recommend this place at all any more! The meat is delicious but the cheap tortillas they're using arrive cold. For the plates they buy they're better off providing thick napkins instead. The place looks like it hasn't been cleaned in decades, there's a significant amount of grease and dust literally all over the place. Place is super tiny, therefore usually crowded.
