The absolute best authentic Mexican tacos and food in the Bay Area. Homemade fresh tortillas, well seasoned meat, fast service, and the flavor here is second-to-none. Redwood City is a highly competitive marketplace for good authentic Mexican food, and this is one of the best in the Bay. As a Bay Area native, this place comes highly recommended, and is named on several websites as a place to try for good Mexican food, and I can see why. Detailed review follows:

[The Food] The tacos, burritos, and other menu items are delicious. They make their own tortillas fresh which gives them the edge over the competition in the Bay Area. The meat is always good, well seasoned, and not overly greasy. The food here is what I would describe as Mexican street style and not what you'd find at fancy Mexican restaurants. What results is an authentic Mexican food experience. This is our favorite place to get tacos and any other Mexican food.

[Customer Service] The customer service here is great. Mostly young employees, family run, and super friendly. Every-time we come here the cashier is super nice. The food is really fast too. We usually don't wait more than 5 minutes for food.

[The Location] Convenient location right off El Camino Real in Redwood City. Safe area, plenty of parking, and lots to do nearby. There's a large "Redwood City" sign across the street which you can go take pictures of if you're visiting as a tourist.

In conclusion, this is the BEST Mexican restaurant in the Bay Area. If you wanted to have more authentic Mexican food, I think you'd probably have to travel to...

Came here today around 1 and it was kinda busy but the wait to order was not bad. Ordered an El pastor super burrito with all of the fixings with the hot sauce. Order came out pretty quick and you can see them making it from the front so that's always nice.

There is no salsa bar or bottles that you can take to your table--this is a first for me. Chips are $2 a bag so I skipped them but they did have pickles/radishes in the front for free so that's nice at least.

Burrito itself wasn't that large but had some nice char marks so gave ita bit of a smoky taste. I didn't find any sour cream or guaclavocado, which is pretty normal for super burritos and their menu doesn't list the ingredients so no way to confirm that. For $13 and some change, I really would have expected it. The cheese inside wasn't melted either and a bit on the cold side that also notched down the experience. Overall, a bit disappointed in the burrito but willing to give it another go in case it...

There are lots of options if you're looking for good Mexican food restaurants in Redwood City, so I don't say lightly that Tacos Los Gemelos is my favorite.

Last time I went in a couple days ago, I had two shrimp tacos and a topo chico, and my wife had a carne asada super burrito with guacamole added.

The stellar customer service and amazing food speak to the quality of the ingredients used, which are clearly fresh and obviously delicious.

I highly recommend the Camarones a la diabla, Quesebirrias, and any taco on the menu. They have great drink selections as well, and compared to most restaurants, the prices are reasonable.

I will continue to eat at Tacos Los Gemelos as long as it is in...

I’ve been a LONG time customer and today’s order was my last time ever coming here. When their food is good it’s AMAZING but when they are bad, it’s bad for many different reasons. When it’s bad: they don’t put enough meat, their salsas aren’t consistent, and the tacos are greasy to the point that the plate is drenched in oil. I ordered plain carnitas taco and received little to no meat in my taco- mind you I paid $4.75 for this one taco in the picture. It makes me sad that they can’t be more consistent because their food can be so good! They make delicious fresh handmade tortillas and the meat has good flavor. I just can’t justify spending $5/taco and not know if it’s going to be good or not.
