Finally went to check out the newest bakery/cafe to the scene. Have been anticipating their opening for months now and was happy to see how busy they were around noon on a Sunday. The light, bright space is open and inviting. My husband thought it felt a bit “soulless” which I didn’t agree with but think it could use a little more art and maybe some textiles to help soften it a touch…

The menu is fun and interesting and because we got there on the later side, they were already out of a couple of things that I’ll have to return to try. I had the ham and cheese morning bun and it was divine. We ordered a piece of the onion and tomato focaccia to-go but it didn’t make it home… we devoured it before we left. My son had the regular morning bun and said it was very tasty. My husband had the croque monsieur which he said was delicious. It came with a little side salad as well. We bought a large country loaf to take home and look forward to trying that tomorrow.

We enjoyed watching the baker making croissants and focaccia while we were eating and can see the attention to detail put into all they bake.

Their prices are reasonable and it is definitely a better value and experience than Mademoiselle Colette. Happy to support small and local at The...

The Baker Next Door is such an exciting addition to Redwood City! I've been a fan of their breads and pastries especially since their weekly pop-ups, and now that they are fully open, it's so exciting to walk into the beautiful open space with the sage green and yellow color scheme, just sit down and hang out with my friends and enjoy the wide variety of menu items they have to offer. The coffee and tea drinks are great too. The Baker/ owner Brian has taken such care in crafting breads, pastries, and breakfast and lunch offerings with great attention to detail and the freshest most high-quality ingredients. Among other things, I take a loaf of their country bread and cherry pecan breads home, the croissant is the best I've had, their peanut butter cookies are next level, their morning buns etc. I've also tried an amazing Croque Madame with delicately dressed side salad, avocado toast, and I can't wait to try more of the menu items.

Co-owner Jenna has worked to create an attractive welcoming environment and a truly great spot for the community and beyond.

Come check out the Baker Next Door, you will want to hang out there every day. Thank you Baker Next Door for coming to...

Both the regular croissant and chocolate croissants are delicious with lovely, flakey, buttery layers that are perfectly baked -- not greasy or dry or sticky as many other croissants can be. And if you sit at the counter, you have a front row seat to watch as they laminate the dough or roll in the dark chocolate while you enjoy your treats. I also tried the nectarine, fromage blanc toast last week which was light while also loaded with fresh nectarines. Wasn't sure how I felt about no wifi or outlets, but there was a friendly, warm atmosphere with other customers readily sharing chairs and had a nice chat with the customer at the next table while mutually waiting for our friends. Parking can sometimes be a bit challenging, but looking forward to trying more of their sandwiches...

What a delightful discovery in Redwood City! Stepping into Baker Next Door feels like entering a haven for all things sweet and delicious. The sweet morning bun and kouign amann are absolute works of art—buttery, flaky, and caramelized to perfection. And their coffee is equally amazing, a perfect partner to the pastries. While the pudding was a bit average for my taste, the rest of the visit was a true joy. This little bakery is a pure gem
