I'm pretty bummed about my experience here. Came here to treat myself for breakfast on my birthday. I ordered the eggs benedict and a pancake. The egg benedict was absolutely delicious. I was so happy with my meal until I went to break the second egg and egg whites came pouring out of the egg into the rest of the food. I was bummed because the eggs Benedict were so good and it was way too much uncooked egg whites for me to continue eating. When I went to pay I explained how the egg was uncooked and was wondering if I could possibly pay the half order price since half the food on the plate was unedible. The woman who I think is the owner comes out and in a rude tone loudly states "So you want to pay for what you ate?". Which I've worked at a restaurant before sure yes I know people try to pull that all the time but that wasn't the case here and instead I just get publicly humiliated since at this point she's speaking loud enough for the surrounding tables to hear. She then comes back and tells me she's taking $3 off but she "has to pay for the food that needed to be thrown away" and told me she and her staff checked the egg and it was in fact cooked. I was in total disbelief.. that somrone was telling me that I did not see white liquid coming out of my egg when I broke it.. seriously? I know people can't be responsible for how they make you feel but man did I let you affect me on my birthday....
Read moreCasual diner sporting very good food at very reasonable prices. I had the chicken bacon ranch sandwich and a cup of chowder. Both were very good. The bacon on the sandwich was thick and crispy and bread was obviously fresh (the bake their own). The fries were also crispy and good, though they don't salt them.
The clam chowder was rich and creamy, with the right amount of salt and good chunks of potatoes and, of course, clams. It was served with a fresh baked, flaky and light, dinner roll.
My girlfriend had the bacon cheeseburger and curly fries. The curly fries were crisp and well seasoned (not too heavily).
This cute little cafe is a great place for a delicious lunch, and I'm looking forward to going back to try their breakfast.
Note: The restaurant is right next door to Safeway...
Read moreThis was a milestone anniversary for us. It was early on a Friday morning and I believe the cook wasn't a seasoned cook. The food was good, but for an old waitress such as myself, I had suggestions in my mind for the cooking to the table set up. My husband says that I do my personal critique of every restaurant that we patronize. So, in finishing I'd say I'm pretty positive that this sweet little cafe that has been there for years gets super busy for breakfast and for their lunch times. They're not open for serving dinner. The wait staff is delightful and sweet. They appear calm, cool and collected and that's important when it comes to...
