Wow! I’ve been to this Applebee’s a number of times, often for special occasions. I also find reasons to come here when there isn’t a special occasion, and that’s because of the food. This last trip was one such reason, but there was a second reason. That was because I had half of a gift card balance left from a Christmas gift.
I was fortunate to be able to spend half the $25 gift certificate at the Applebee’s in Sparks. There I had a special $9.99 burger with bacon fries and endless drinks. Oh, I also had a dessert! But this time it was gonna be triplets, oh my goodness, the triplets are unbeatable.
There’s so many other good things on the menu that is tempting to put those little delicacies off until the next trip. But this time, there was no waiting for the next trip. It was now or never, and it was now! I had a little trouble getting the seat that I wanted, because they had a new hostess, who was really trying hard to do a good job.
I really enjoy sitting in the booths, even when I’m alone. If I’m gonna spend my money, or a gift card, I want to sit where I want to sit! Sorry. I understand that their are sections in a restaurant and it was early in the afternoon, but everything worked out great!
The beautiful bartender took my table, and eventually the table next to me too. The service was amazing. Not to mention the food. I was not sure about which of the sauces I wanted to have on my riblets, but the waitress offered a great solution.
She said I’ll bring all three of them and you can just try each one. what a great solution. The three sauces for the riblets are the standard barbecue sauce, the Asian sauce and the new spicy honey sauce. Standard barbecue sauce is really good sweet and smoky.
The Asian sauce has a distinct flavor that kind of rings of Hoson sauce, little spicy , but not too much. It has a nice sweetness to it as well.
The new spicy honey sauce is very mild as far as the heat, but was by far my favorite. Really sweet, but more of a honey sweetness rather than a sugary sweetness.
Although I really love the ribs and all of the great sauces, I was totally amazed at how delicious the broccoli was. It was cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly as well. My waitress told me that her manager put together my plate, and it shows it. I don’t know if she actually cooked it but it’s definitely a teamwork here the Kitzke Lane Applebee’s.
I was totally surprised when they allowed me to substitute for the french fries and coleslaw with other items for the side dishes. I'm kind of french fried out, so I chose some of the garlic mashed potatoes and the broccoli side dish, a substituted for the coleslaw.
I had to decide if I was going to get the small rib dish or the full sized one. No brainer there . By purchasing the full-size plate I got 16 ounces, 1 pound of delicious riblet's.😜 My total bill was $18.39. I had a gift card from my pastor at church, which was a Christmas present. I was able to use that wonderful blessing for an awesome second blessing of food at Applebee’s on Kitzke at the fire Creek Crossing!
Megan you are the bomb❤️👍 Let it go eg....
Read moreYikes! Where to begin? When we arrived we were greeted by the hostess. We said we had 3 people and a baby who needed a highchair. We requested a table. She looked around the restaurant puzzled and then checked her seating chart. She did this about 5 times. There were maybe 6 tables taken IN THE WHOLE RESTAURANT!!! Finally she looks at us and says, "table or booth?" I couldn't believe it. I thought she was looking around the empty restaurant for the perfect table for us, guess not lol. So we are seated and order our drinks. The waiter was nice enough. We asked for a couple more minutes to decide. A half hour later he came back to get our orders! I wish I was kidding. We ordered an appetizer which took about 30 minutes to come out. It was fine when we got it, nothing spectacular but we were so hungry at that point we probably would have eaten just about anything. I notice the table next to us is having issues with their food coming out cold and then being sent back and never coming out again. I start looking around and see there are other people complaining about wrong food, cold food, etc. When I ordered my food I requested no ranch on it because I am lactose intolerant. We finally get our food after 45 minutes at least. Honestly we were just going to leave but my son really wanted to stay because they have yogurt and strawberries there and it's his favorite. Well the food comes out and mine is drenched in ranch, my son has literally a spoonful of yogurt and my husband's burger is nothing but grease. Our waiter goes MIA yet again so I flag down another waiter and ask for more yogurt for my son. He actually comes right back with it and apologizes! In the meantime the manager comes over and apologizes for the really long wait and says our meal will be free. I send my food back so they could fix it and I never saw it again. The manager went around to every table and comped everyone's meals because the service was so terrible. There was an excuse about the night shift cooks coming in and things got messed up or something. In my opinion that's a piss poor excuse. My husband and son ate and we left. We said we would give it another try at first but we won't. After we left we just got even more mad over it. There was no attempt to make things better just, "here this meal will be free." The manager also lied to me which really made me mad. The waiter came out of the kitchen and told me he went to check my food and it wasn't back there then the manager walks over from another table 5 seconds later and says that she just saw my food. We are letting our friends know to avoid this place. After about 3 hours we finally left. It was the worse dining experience I...
Read moreI have been in Reno since the beginning of February. I'm not sure if its race or ethnicity but I have not had the best experiences when going out to eat or the hotels I've been staying at. I changed hotels because of the poor service I received only to come to the Hampton Inn on Ambassador Ave and have a similar if not worse experience. I gave Applebee's 2 stars simply because MY food was decent. My daughter on the other hand, only got half of her order correct. Our drinks were by far terrible; I didn't want to get sloshed, but I know what crown royal apple tastes like and I did not taste it in my drink. The margarita was alright though, considering. We had to wait approx. 15 mins. to be seated and the restaurant was not crowded. It took another 20 mins for us to be acknowledged and our orders taken once we were seated. Then when our appetizer finally arrived and our drinks, which were watered down and the glass sweating as if they'd been sitting at the bar for a while, our food was served rudely. When the waitress came around to check on us, I asked for some napkins. She brought back a stack of napkins that to me seemed like she was being sarcastic or something. Then, when it was time to pay the bill, I waited another 12 mins. before someone finally came by after seeing we were impatient and not very happy, to ask if we needed anything and I told this person I was waiting on the waitress so I could get change to leave a tip. Well once the waitress got change from the bar, she took another 12 mins. before coming by to give my change (my daughter and I watched her have a conversation, laughter and all, with the bartender). I left a generous tip although the food and service were horrible. I will not be coming back to this location. It's 2020 and if people are still partial or racist in this day and age, I feel so sorry for them. It's not only pitiful and sad but simple minded...
