Went here with my family completely excited. Opened at 11, we arrived 11:15. Ok. Maybe early lunch. We were the only ones there. Hardly a hello if many words there after the entire hour we were there. We had a groupon to use. After research of the food and and all I was excited. My caprese had old squishy tomato. Very bland...had to add salt and pepper...which I never do. Ordered tortellini in Beef broth. Aldente is not the word. Hardly cooked. My husband ordered a salad with which his best resposne was soley on the dressing used. We had 2 small children with us so I ordered the chicken parmesan. It was good. But again lacking flavor and doused in cheese. The sauce and pasta served with was tastey... I will say that at least. This also came with fresh green beans...unfortunately tasted as if boiled in water. Mushy and no flavor....added salt and pepper. There was another table of two going on and on about their food. Complimenting the man many times...he lacked any response. There was no music just silence. Lacked an ambiance. If not for the groupon we needed to use we would have just turned back. The instant we walked in we felt uninvited. Yes we were brought a menu. Yes our order was taken. Yes we were brought our food. But. The coldness and honestly...snobishness we felt. Only fair to say. Go in expecting food that although home made-mediocure and an attitude that left us with discomfort. Not worth the prices...the prices listed I'd see for a dinner service not an early lunch. We value our local businesses and love food and spend without cause for worry knowing that's our intent...an enjoyable time. Our children felt the cold.....we can only say...we will not go back. We want others to know this was our first time and if the food even merited it we would try a 2nd time...I would rather go to a place who was happy we were there. The man seemed like he didn't want to be there or have us there. Don't expect much but high prices for so-so food and ambience. Olive Garden hands down better and I know it's not "real" Italian food...but. Going there instead...welcoming cheery and...
Read moreIt looks like most of these reviews are positive with glowing recommendations for the owners and chefs; unfortunately my wife and I ordered food via Door Dash (which may have been the issue, admittedly), and received subpar, undercooked food and when we attempted to contact the restaurant the person we spoke to (who did not give his name) barely listened and only repeated "why" over and over again, giving absolutely zero credence to our complaint.
Sometimes bad service happens. Everyone has bad days and maybe the stars aligned this one afternoon and gods of Italian cuisine decided to play a prank. Jupiter may be in retrograde, or perhaps the staff was overwhelmed, but the handling of situation was atrocious.
I'm not a thin man, nor am I picky, but my veal looked like it was tossed into the microwave moments before delivery and was absent the white sauce it was advertised with. My wife's Raviolis tasted like dough. There was definitely filling, but it's difficult to taste through undercooked dough. It smelled like dough. I'm pretty sure it wasn't yet a Ravioli, but still dough. And all of this is still okay, like I said, it happens. What is not okay is freaking out at an unsatisfied customer. | The first why makes sense. Hey, why do you think your order is wrong? Well, for these obvious reasons. The second why may be for clarification, if confusing, the third? The fourth? We've entered the realm of trolling. We spent fifty dollars, we expected at least a mediocre meal, and maybe an apology, not accusations of dishonesty and insistence that no one ever has been dissatisfied with your food. They have. In these reviews people have, in other reviews they have, and today - even if it was the first time - someone has. It's a cliché, but you lost our business from now on, and I hope that at least stings as much as anger we felt for getting screwed out...
Read moreWe dined here tonight. Upon walking in we were immediately greeted with the pungent stench of a gas leak, although I felt it was akin to the stench of a dirty street in San Francisco. The staff was pleasant, but not memorable or warm. I had the manicotti and the cream of asparagus soup, my husband the artichoke ravioli and pasta fagioli. My soup was a somewhat warm bechamel sauce with cut up asparagus in it, and the asparagus was the temperature of molten lava. I'm pretty sure the asparagus was cooked separately and used to heat the plain white sauce. My husband's soup was the same temperature as my asparagus pieces, but at least his soup was heated in the volcano altogether. I'm also certain that the cream sauce used in my soup was also used to dress his ravioli, which he felt was nothing more than cheese ravioli in a white sauce. The manicotti, on the other hand, was obviously heated on the surface of the sun. I tried carefully to eat it, but every bite was similar to placing a hot coal on my tongue. And when it may have finally been cooled enough to take a bite, I found it to be about the same as what I'd get from a chain restaurant, if not worse. It was definitely cooked too hot because it became rock hard on the bottom as it cooled. When they boxed up the last few bites (which I had declined), we commented to ourselves that we were surprised the plastic box didn't melt as it was still piping hot. And the prices are way out of line! A can of soda for $5?! A glass of wine at $15, but the entire bottle (about 3.5 glasses on average) is $70?! Talk about a rip off! A subpar experience at "fine dining" prices.
Edit: my husband corrected me on the price of the wine. It wasn't $70, it was $80. High...
