I don't usually do reviews but I just had to. Good Bye to this restaurant. I am never going there again.
If I could give 0 or half star I would give that.
I have tried many Indian restaurant all over US. I know they don't have the best customer service compared to many other restaurant and I do not expect much on that side when I go to Indian restaurant. Not having any expectation on service, still I was hugely disappointed here. I have been here couple of time and I didn't care about service much.
To begin with food was okay. Some were good, some not so good. Food presentation was also nice.
But I do not know why the server keep coming to our table and picking up plate dished which still has food. They just come there and pick up. 1st time we ignored, second time we ignored and third time we had to say we are still eating, there is food in the plate then he just puts the plate back and leave. No Sorry no nothing. And this was not buffet but evening service.
Next we find hair in the food. We show it to server and he is like noooooo. that is not hair. then he put his finger and try to pick it up. He was not ready to agree that was hair and constantly tried to pick it up. I am pretty sure, if he was able to pick it up, he would have asked us where. Now eat. After few attempt to pick it up acting what where, he finally agreed and pick the plate and left. I was able to see he showed to the lady in the restaurant who looked like owner or manager of the restaurant and she didn't even bothered to say anything.
We were waiting to hear something from them. They took the food which we were no longer interested to eat but was waiting what would they say. After a while the server came, he place the bill in the table and left. We were what just happened... no sorry no nothing. Not even a word. I was not expecting them to replace the food or anything but that was a huge disappointment. Looked like they didn't even cared.
Having Bad service is totally different from don't give a damn attitude. I am still surprised that this restaurant have good rating which make me think was it...
Read moreTerrible experience overall. First off, I believe they tried to rip me off - I will discuss that momentarily. When we initially ordered the vegetarian dinner for 2, $25 on the menu for samosas, soup, naan, two entrees, and dessert or coffee/tea. Sounds like a great deal. When my girlfriend tried to order the veg Manchurian as her entree, the server literally told her to not get it, saying it was no good. Okay. Although we each ordered vegetarian meals, the first dish brought out to us was a plate of meat! When our actual food came out it was alright, not bad, but nothing special. We asked for boxes when we were done, and brought our check. Never offered the dessert or coffee that was advertised. Whatever, I can live without it. Our total should have come to $28 and change. However, the server tried to give me a bill totaling $40 dollars. I made him aware of this apparent mistake, to which he responded if I payed this price, he would give me money back....I explained how I would like an official receipt of what I actually ordered, and I will pay only what I owe. He agreed and walked away saying he will fix it. 5 minutes or so later, a different server came over giving me the wrong bill, again totaling $40, telling me to pay this price and they will make sure they refund me later.I had to argue with him about this and basically had to demand he give me my official bill - stating if I sign for the higher amount with my card, then I am obligated to that. I don’t know if this is standard practice, but if you choose to eat here please keep track of what you order and double...
Read moreAs an out-of-town traveler in Reno for one night, I placed an online order for pickup. The tandoori tikka salad with chicken was just OK. It came with a tangy yogurt dressing that was nice, but got to be a bit overbearing about halfway through the salad, and I didn't finish it because of that. My entree was the shahi paneer korma, and that was really delicious and flavorful. And I also had an order of the apricot-coconut naan that was amazing.
What bothered me about the place was the service. I asked for some plastic ware and the guy seemed a little put out at having to go retrieve it. The worst, though, was their absolute refusal to provide me with a printed receipt for my order. Ordering online can be tricky, sometimes places don't automatically provide a receipt for online orders, but this is the first time I've ever encountered a place that absolutely refused to do so. And they weren't the least bit nice about it, or apologetic. They insisted that I could access my receipt online, but I couldn't. I ordered as a "guest", and I'd already closed the window on my laptop that contained the order, so there was no way to retrieve it. I checked my various email accounts to see if I'd received an emailed copy (some places do this), but there was no email. My company requires a receipt in order for me to get reimbursed for my meals, so this ridiculous, petulant refusal by them cost me nearly $30.
In summary, if you want some delicious Indian cuisine in Reno, and you don't care about unfriendly service, and you don't require a receipt for reimbursement, this is a good spot...
