Jimboy's Tacos — Restaurant in Reno

I think the manager and some of crew are racist. And don't speak English. I came to retrieve a doordash order and the crew just looked at me once then pretended I was invisible for 10 minutes.

Noone said they'd help me so I went to the drive thru, then, the lady that ignored me answered the drive thru and instead of saying pull forward she said "come inside". I thought she said lull forward so I tried to ask her to please repeat and she ignored me. So I tried to drive around to find 2 cars in front of me and the only way back was to back up.

So I backed up quickly before anyone else came behind me. Went back in the store. And one associate came up and said "so sorry". And I just shrugged..

I asked him how many more minutes on the order, he said what? So I gestured to my wrist as if I had a watch and wanted to know the time.

Apparently that was rude of me. But I don't speak Spanish so idk what to tell you.

The manager came out and said I treated his employees poorly but I never even actually shared words with any employee except to ask how long...

I asked him how I did, he could not explain. Just said he seen me on camera.

Which means he saw me back up and come repark. But I didn't yell at anyone or anything.

Quietly waited for the order then all the sudden 15 minutes later canceled.

Wouldn't talk to me, just TOLD me I was wrong but not WHAT I did so i have no clue still...

I was only stressed because some restaurants treat POC like were ALL THIEFS...

SERIOUSLY, Yall messed with a professional dasher whose never kept an order for himself. With a 4.9/5 star rating. Whose always going the extra mile.

Yall judged me by my skin color and looks. That's messed up.

Idk if the foods good, I won't eat here after being treated like I'm an...

I’ve never had issues before with Jimboy’s but today was not good. A customer reported some sort of netting in their tacos. The customers in line over heard and left. I told myself ah maybe a fluke , I had already ordered and paid so I figured I’d just eat. Of course after hearing this I was paying more attention to my food and then found a hair inside the meat of my taco. It looked like a facial hair short thick and black. I tried not to be too loud and just nicely ask for a refund as my appetite has been ruined. The reason for the one star is because how the manager or whoever she was treated us. They rudely asked for my receipt after searching through the tacos as if I was lying. The older lady came up like where where I don’t see it. And I told them it was a small hair inside the meat not like a long piece of hair from your head but like a facial hair. They basically accused me of lying and said “when you see a hair you’re supposed to show us”. So unprofessional and disrespectful I had taken two bites when I noticed the hair, I didn’t eat all of them and then complain. Mind you this was also after another customer had basically eaten some netting from the grill. I will never return to this Jimboy’s again considering how condescending and rude their staff were. And how unclean and careless they are when making their food. That manager needs to be fired as she didn’t apologize she just rolled her eyes and gave me attitude because I apparently didn’t make a scene and save the hair that was in my food. A friend of mine demanded that I go to Jimboy’s while I was in Reno. I am glad that I did, to a point.

What point? The tacos were great (esp. the ground beef ones for which they seem to be known).

What other points? This location was meh. Yes, Carl’s looks like a fun place to go for a drink after having a few tacos. The people wandering in and out of there look like they could ‘hook me up’. This Jimboy’s looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years. The workers didn’t seem to care we were there. They were happy to talk with other people in front of us while we waited to order. Same language? Different language? Doesn’t really matter, especially when you are wanting to order food. And could we understand what they were saying, even if they thought we couldn’t. Maybe, just maybe.

I suspect this location lives and dies on local customers and could care less if some hicks from wherever (not hicks, and not from wherever) chose to come in for food. And at least they got the food right. But, between talking with your friends and laughing with your coworkers, try using some Windex and a broom or mop. Or don’t. And then you can try to apply for a job at Carl’s. I would love to see that interview!

Find another location if you can and enjoy some tacos. Or go to this one and enjoy the food but not the experience....
