Today was my last day at Legends, it's really about food consistency and service, and this place is all over the place, and CONSISTENTLY, that's what you can come to experience and expect, and often you walk away feeling like a loser, gambling that it might be different (across the board good) this time.
Today it was convenient to stop by as I was next door, before returning to work a distance way. I did half order of cajun Dry Rubs with Blue Cheese, and 5 Tuesday Taco's (TT) with the hottest sauce they have (the habanero salsa here was fantastic last TT visit), and a water.
The gentlemen taking my order didn't write anything down, and I really don't like this style unless you nail it (he didn't). First, comes my taco's, they are $1.50 each, some more full than the others, and 1 sauce. The sauce wasn't hot, but I am still waiting for my wings. My wings arrive, and I bring up the sauce and I am bluntly told they only do 1 sauce (could have said that upon ordering - as I would have likely walked out). I mention the last time I was here I had a great habanero sauce, so he decides to check. They don't have but chef makes something on the spot (only reason for 2 stars). The sauce was one of the biggest reasons I came back (hence why I would have left upon knowing it was not here), plus that visit, taco's were $1 each.
I look at my wings and this is where the place just blows, you cannot never expect anything but small and medium wings consistently when they act like they run the town on the BIGGEST BUFFALO WINGS in TOWN. You'd think this where the quality control would be done, like each wing to fit the title would be looked at and judged worthy, and half of them should have been excluded, while the other 3 barely made the cut. I was given a watery ranch, then left to my own.
When I had 3 wings left, I already dusted the tacos and habanero, another waitress asked if I need anything, so I thought I would request my blue cheese like I ordered. She agreed, then proceeded to take another tables order who had been there since I arrived, not only that put their ticket in, which was not quick (they must have the worst order taking system ever, they look like they are reading a novel), while I am waiting for my blue cheese (I have 3 wings left).
I finally give up and start on my wings again, but slowly in case a miracle happens and it arrives in time. Now I ordered Cajun, and there were 10% of the seasoning you usually get, so zero cajun flavor, and these wings were not super tasty, just okay, and mostly small (I would never serve this if I was a chef, and if I did I'd apologize and says that's all we had left).
The waitress finally arrived with a blue cheese that would have been worthy at the beginning as it's twice the size of the ranch, super rich and creamy, but I have 1 1/2 wings left. I get done with everything stack my plates, push to the end of the table, waiting for my bill, it doesn't come.
I think it's the 1st server, but he's doing everything else, finally I walk up to counter to 2nd waitress, and shes been sitting on my bill, doing something on her phone, which she says it's a to go and was giving directions. I just want out knowing it's my last visit.
She charges another person bill, I tell her, she presses a button, doesn't give me a receipt proving my refund, which I had to ask, she says it's not available, it doesn't print. After that I pay my bill and leave. I should have stuck with my intuition of dropping a $20 and walking out, it would have saved me 10 minutes of this experience (BTW did I mention this experience is CONSISTENT here?).
I was out the door with food, water, tax, and $1.75 tip over $18, and completely disappointed, walking out a loser for the last time again, tell me if that sounds like a...
Read moreThis place has been a staple in the community for several years. The food that emerges from the kitchen rivals a number of places in the area. Everywhere from high-brow spots to the chains people line up at for hours ...by the way, I 'get' that people love chains but step outside of your comfort zone every now and then. \endrant.
After perusing their menu, I saw the better part of a dozen items that I wanted yet I only have one stomach. I chose the 'Legendary Chicken Sandwich'. The chicken breast was seasoned perfectly, the vegetables were fresh, delicious, and the avocado was a nice touch. I think there was a spot of mayonnaise on there. If so, that's an unwanted condiment, in my book. I know people enjoy that stuff ...not me. Next time, I'll ask if my order has it and ask for it to be held off. I added onion rings to my order in lieu of fries. They had honey mustard as a dipping sauce so I asked for that to dip[ the rings. The sauce was DELICIOUS. So much, that I needed a second cup ...haha.
The only downside to my trip here is, this was my first time here in SEVEN YEARS. I was shocked to find this out and have made a note in my mind to go back much sooner than 2027. I think I'll order some wings next...
Read moreWow, it's been a long time since I've been in here, it's all remodeled and new seat coverings on the booths and table tops! Looks nice. It was around 11 am and I guess the heat wasn't coming on yet, cause it was pretty freezing in here. Looking at the menu, I was pleasantly surprised they have breakfast back on offer. It was missing from the menu last I was in a long time ago. I love the egg breakfast with a burger patty. Called Meat and Eggs now. My friend saw the Patty Melt, whoa! ... $16 bucks, that's gone up! Most places are around $12-$13
The food came out hot. Dang, that eggs, hashbrowns and burger patty was just as good as ever! One thing though, the toast was a little skimpy, just one slice cut in two! Used to get normally 2 slices of toast! Meat was cooked as ordered.
I'll tell you what, that Patty Melt came out looking delicious, plated perfectly with the meaty side out, posing for a pic! Cooked perfect, not all overcooked brown like most places! $16 seem pushing the price point, but I guess at least it was a...
