This cafe is a JOKE⌠DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME⌠let me say straight that the chef is good. But a cafe in that sort of price range needs more than just a good chef. This cafe runs by a bunch of rude staff who has no sense of customer service. I cannot imagine the worse experience that I had. On Saturday 10/22/22 at 1:30pm, I went there with family, friends and my very little baby. I asked one of their waitresses to clean the table before we sit, she refused. I didnât mind, and took all the dirty dishes to their reception. On the way, one of their staffs just rudely, and I mean rudely with huge attitude, got the dishes from me. I still didnât mind, as I was there to have a good time with friends and family. I went back and settled on the table. In few minutes, I found their manager, a rude very inexperienced lady, on my table screaming at me, my little baby and my friends that why I did something that they were supposed to do. Later, I realized that their waitress got offended why I asked her to clean the table ⌠that is amazingly ridiculous⌠I asked the inexperienced manager to leave and let us to enjoy, but apparently she was there to fight ⌠she kept screaming. I tried to get her calmed down but she kept screaming till she scared my baby. Finally, I told her that she needs to be more respectful to customers, her answer was she gives a shâŚ. In that point, I realized she is getting out of control and I asked her what she wants me to do, she screamed that she wants us to leave. I said, sure but that she needs to leave our table and let us finished. I told her we will make it quick. She came back with two big guys threatening us that she will have to physically ask us to leave if we continue to sit. So, I realized this person is absolutely out of mind. This is not what you expect from a said to be a high end cafe. I used to go to this cafe almost twice every week. In fact, on the same day I redeemed $62 in rewards. This is how much I used to go there. But, I have to say over the past year they have lost lots of respect because their poor customer service. Actually, this not poor customer service, this is offensive. The experience is awful in this cafe. If you go there, You will be questioning yourself by exposing to bunch of crazy people. DO NOT GO TO THIS CAFE ⌠DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME and MONEYâŚ. A bunch of crazy but aggressive and inexperienced people run this cafe ask you to pay expensive prices to be screamed atâŚ. THIS CAFE is an example of WHERE YOU...
Read morePerenn has a lot of potential to be great, but after coming here regularly for the last few months has made me question that.
Let's start with the good:
Atmosphere: Aesthetically pleasing on the inside, fairly spacious
Food: One of the very few places that has different options for breakfast that isn't the basic American breakfast combo.
Service: Friendly staff
The bad:
Atmosphere: Gets very loud, especially when they get busy. Tip: google gives you their "busy times" so you know when to avoid the crowds.
Food: Incredibly inconsistent with quantity and warmth. I've had times where the food came out promptly and you didn't feel like they "skimped" on the food you paid for. Other times, it felt like they were scraping the bottom of the bowl and without a care gave it to you stone cold. Perhaps due to different cooks working that day and/or gets overwhelming with the crowds. Regardless, a restaurant that is managed well can still be consistent.
Service: 99% of the time that I have come, the tables are not wiped even though they've been cleared off. Would be good if they had at least 2 people assigned to buss the tables, one being on the "floor" at all times during the busier times.
From my observations, lack of staff, organization, and proper operations contributes to poor quality and service. For how much you pay for, this place is mediocre in my mind. A matcha latte and Turkish eggs come to $30-ish in total before tip. If a business is charging that much, then I expect better. It's sad that local businesses like this attract a large number of people for the "uniqueness" but in the end can't seem to uphold a certain standard that they so promise in their mission.
However, due to the very limited options in Reno, I will continue to come here. Just less often and earlier in the day.
Our people: "our team members' hard work truly makes a difference and helps us in our pursuit of unsurpassed quality".

Read moreUnfortunately had a bad experience, stopped at the original st. Lawrence location for a specific pastry, they were out, I asked the young lady to check with the rancharrah location for availability so I dont drive there for nothing and was told they can not call the other branch....ok....u drove up, stood in line for 25 minutes, $20 later plus tip for two pastries and a small coffee and the pastries were horrible! The pastries tasted like they were a day old and not fresh, the cream filling tasted like it was powdered pudding and it was just not what perenn standards where at! Mind you, their prices are at par if not higher then west coast staples as tartin in SF or Parker Lassau in monterey (and let's not even compare the above mentioned culinary staples and their cost of doing business to this reno joint but....) , if you charge me and claim to be one, stand behind your products and step up your game! As a local business owner myself, I contacted the establishment on a private email as I am not keen to butcher ones establishment publicly without giving a proper chance to the establishment to save face but.... all I got was a "thanks for letting us know , we'll let our production manager know and do come and try us again".... to which I replied that if the expectations are that I, after already spending my money on the bad experience am also expected to spend it again is an insult and it would be better fitting for the establishment to sort out their production failures and than reach out and INVITE me to try it again on THEIR dime and not mine! It has been nearly 2 weeks with no reply hence I feel this review is warranted and just! Perenn, yes, you might be the "only" game in town (currently) but charging an uber premium is not enough, QA and respect to your customers who supported you since day one is something that needs to be honored...even uf you are riding the...
