Two Guys from Hong Kong — Restaurant in Reno

Must be under new ownership as of Jan 2025. The prior owner has had Chinese restaurants in the Reno/Sparks area for at least 40 years. They started out as the Golden Chopsticks in Sparks. Now, with new owners, everything is different as the menu, packaging, and atmosphere. The front window is covered with pictures of menu items. To me, that is something of a junky carnival atmosphere. I had ordered online takeout dinner for myself and my wife. I arrived 20 minutes early as my errands went quicker than expect. It was there in an insulated container. Not good as not as fresh as I would expect but still not huge. The packaging was junk clear plastic and styrofoam containers instead of the standard Chinese food paper square boxes. I don't like more plastic than necessary. The menu is not the same at all with several dozen choices. The items were heavy with mostly starch as pasta, rice and corn starch. Light on veggies and protein (meat). My thought was that Panda Express is much better. It just did not taste right. In my opinion, Two Guys has gone from one of the better Chinese restaurants in Washoe county to probably the worst. I asked my wife if we should order from them in the future. She said,...

It's a-okay. It's a hole in the wall type Chinese food charging upscale prices. Dinner combo for broccoli Beef was around $22-$23, and 2/3 of it is egg fried rice. No choice to split half with chow mein. They have an option to do a chow mein add on that's smaller sized for $11. Which makes a Dinner combo over $30, which you can get at other places in town for under $20.

It was good, but everything was just Soy sauce flavored, so pretty salty even for Chinese food. Soups were tasty (egg flower and hot and sour), the chop suey was okay too. The meat quality is higher than hole in the wall Chinese though. Didn't include sweet n sour sauce for dipping fried spring rolls or Rangoon.

Bonus is they are on delivery apps. In person is cheaper, but...

I've lived here since 1994 and I've never had a bad experience the people there are friendly they wait on you hand and foot I may say the food is excellent the prices maybe a little high but that's the economy now the food back when I used to go was very good price but today they give you a lot of food I couldn't even finish my plate I had to take it home he was heaping the food on my plate and it was excellent everything I ordered kind friendly always and always checking on us if you want good Chinese food and you want kind and friendly people and you want a nice atmosphere I would suggest you guys from Hong Kong located on South Meadows next...
