In long. AKA...Story Time!

I was up in the Reno area for the Flogging Molly's concert at GSR, and my Girlfriend found out that she had a BBQ in her WALL of her new place! What!?!?

So what do you do...you find a butcher and buy a duck and other cool stuff...right?

Well, that's what I did.

I called the shop like 30 mins before closing. Chris answered the call. He didn't know for sure if they had a whole duck, but he took the time to find out. He was very accommodating and friendly! I told him I had like a 15 minute drive and didn't want to cut it too close to closing time.

He said, "No, no problem! I'll have it bagged up and ready for you when you get here." - and I was like, "I'm on my way!"

The shop was gorgeous! And everyone was SO awesome! My pictures don't do it justice...you have to stop by!

I snagged a few other things (just 'cause) and I'm glad I did! It was all awesome!

Before I went in...I ran into an one of the guys coming out the back door. I said thanks for having a duck for me, he was like, "Oh! Nice! You called in a bit ago? It's all ready at the front for you!" (Didn't catch his name, but that was cool that he knew!)

When I got to the "shopping area" of the "mall" - It was SO CUTE!

They had a fireplace, Bocce ball, Cornhole, and my favorite, a giant Chess Board!

Before I even went into the shop, I had to call my lady and tell her that she needed to visit!

I'm ecstatic about everything! I can't wait for the next opportunity to visit!

Stopped in for a burger and to grab some meat/seafood. First, the store is what you’d expect from a butcher shop but probably cleaner.

Ordered a prime rib burger and fries. I wanted it to be better but fact is, it was average. Not a lot of flavor. Fries were fresh but a little under cooked. Overall, a 7/10.

I took home a Waygu strip steak. This was AMAZING. Flavorful, tender, delicious. Buttery and perfectly marbled. Best steak I’ve ever made at home. 10/10

Also got some tritip for poker night. One was bourbon flavored, one was Santa Maria (or something like that). Santa Maria was very good. Bourbon flavored was not good. It was just an odd flavor and even the guys that like bourbon didn’t care for this meat. That said, both were tender and a high quality piece of meat. 5/10 - would be higher if not for the flavor of the bourbon.

So why a 5 star rating? It’s about the quality of the meat and the service. Just because I didn’t like the flavor of something doesn’t mean it wasn’t quality meat and quality service. Overall, I...

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Amazing! Nothing short of fabulous!!!! We have picked up items in the past and all have been outstanding. At Valentines they offered a "Special" and I thought, "What the heck" and I got 2 filet mignons, 2 lobster Tails, 2 twice baked potatoes. I don't even like Lobster tails. Why? Bc they've ALWAYS been tough, chewy and have no flavor - that's been my experience in the past.... I could never understand what the draw was for them. I guess it's bc I never had a Good Lobster Tail. I cooked my LT from Armando's and OMG I had NO idea how incredible a LT could be! Apparently I've never had a good one before! Armando's Lobster Tails were sweet, juicy, tender, succulent and exquisite. I could have eaten 10 of them bc they were so sensational. The Filet's were out of this world too and the twice baked taters were the best I've had!
