The Sandwich Spot (Reno) — Restaurant in Reno

OMG pictures don't do these sandwiches justice! My friend and I came here for lunch and both of our sandwiches were huge. And yes we did our Yelp research before we came here and the images are a lie. If you zoom into the image then it's a little more accurate.

The Odin son sandwich is huge and delicious. I had mine with the Dutch crunch bread which taste a little like buttery garlic knots bread. The bread doesn't have any garlic but the taste reminded me of garlic knots. The one bad thing about the bread is that it's like eating captain crunch without liquid, it will hurt the roof of your mouth if your not careful, but it's well worth the pain.

The buttery bread from the Dutch crunch mixes well with The Odin son and it's robust flavors of Hot Pastrami, Roast Beef, Salami & Swiss Cheese. I had their secrete sauce along with all their toppings and it just made this sandwich. This is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. But what made it even better was the amazingly friendly service from the staff and manager.

Even tho COVID has made going out to eat slightly awkward, the staff made it a pleasure. The guy that greeted us was super friendly and helped me and my friend figure out what type of sandwich we needed to try. After we picked our meals, what I think was the owner (a big bearded muscular guy) had a friendly conversation with us while we waited. We appreciated the conversation and felt very welcomed. The guy that took our order offered us to try one of their sauces with our sandwiches, I had the Teriyaki BBQ sauce on the side and man was it amazing! My friend had the Jalapeno ranch sauce, he said he never tasted that before.

This is truly the sandwich spot and it has some seriously different sandwiches. It's a must stop if you are passing threw or you just need a serious sandwich that is going to fill you up. The only thing I didn't like was the chocolate chip cookies, they were way too dry and hard. But I didn't come here for the cookies. I wanted a hearty sandwich for dinner after shopping at Target in Reno and in the same strip mall there was “The Sandwich Spot” so I had to try out my favorite sandwich and see how they add up to my favorite sandwich shop. I ordered their roast beef sandwich unfortunately the only thing I liked was the crazy sauce they put in it however it was such a tiny swipe of it that it didn’t go from end to end on the bread so it was dry and flavorless and not hearty by any means. The sandwich is well under one foot long it definitely needed way more beef WAY MORE and other ingredients as well to even call it a sandwich or a meal and make it feel like you got something for your hard earned money. I don’t recommend this place for people looking for a hearty sandwich or meal at a fair price. They need to make some big adjustments to the amount of beef and ingredients used for the prices they charge including getting healthier meats vegetables and breads. The sourdough was too soggy and under cooked (they take from frozen and bake it when you order it) for a French Dip. The beef broth didn’t taste like beef broth at all and the beef wasn’t fresh sliced roast beef it was your typical frozen beef heated up….looked and tasted like rubber AKA...

We used the Sandwich Spot for a catered event. I called the day before to make sure we were good to go. Adam the manager confirmed my order and said it would be ready for pick up at 5pm the next day. The NEXT DAY when we arrived to pick up our order, the doors were locked and the store was closed at 445pm. I called multiple times and left multiple messages. Finally at 515 Adam called me back and apologized, he said they had forgotten about my order(even though I spoke with him directly the day before to confirm). He said he would have to go back and make them all at that time. He showed up an hour and a half late with sandwiches that looked horrible and were not well received by our guests. More than half of the entire order was thrown in the trash because it was not eaten. I called and complained and asked for a refund. Ty- the manager of their other location said he would handle it and see that I was refunded for the poor experience we received. It has been over 2 weeks now and no refund has been made and no one will call me back. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. They train wrecked my event...
