Fantastic new trendy, outdoor beer garden in downtown Reno; entirely constructed of shipping containers. Beautiful setting right on the river. Rundown: Three shipping container bars surrounding a common area with open seating, bocce ball and cornhole. Each bar offers different craft beers and different wine. The TV screens on the outside of the bar will list the beers. There are bartender at each bar, and servers roam the common area as well. Two other shipping containers provide covered seating and retail spots for local artists and crafters. Pluses: Unique and trendy, for sure! No smoking or vaping. Dogs are permitted. I myself enjoy this. Great people watching spot. Great spot to interact and meet new people. Very much a community feel. Considerations: This venue is new at the time of this post, so unsure of the plans in inclement weather. Food is only available at this location intermittently, when food trucks are scheduled. Word has it that entertainment and happy hour specials are planned in the near future. Too soon to comment. Parking is tricky at any downtown location, so give yourself some time to find a spot. There is a parking garage at 135 N. Sierra St. The street meters do take debit and credit cards and are free after 6PM...
Read moreBartender with the ugly attitude kicked out multiple women and their groups for using the men’s bathroom when there was a line of 50 people for the women’s bathroom and 0 for the men’s. I asked him why and his only answer was “it’s the men’s bathroom” . Seems to me if there open stalls paying customers should be able to use the restroom. The guard at the door was ridiculous and rude. Maybe the eddy should figure out their restroom situation instead of kicking guests out for trying to pee.
In reaction to the business’s response: no. There wouldn’t be a different reaction if a man was caught in the women’s restroom. Peeing is peeing & it’s human. That’s an opinion & a bad one at that. Get more restrooms & maybe read a few more books. There are PLENTY of places with gender neutral bathrooms. There is a reason stalls exist.
Also, a man would never go in the women’s restroom because the line...

A happening container beer garden along the Truckee River in downtown Reno.
I visit the Eddy every trip to Reno when the weather allows (they close starting at Thanksgiving for four months).
They have a large, rotating menu of beers and ciders, as well as a full bar. While pizza is available daily, they also have various food trucks that visit monthly.
While the service can sometimes be aloof and the locals stare at me funny as a woman out for a bevvy alone, it's a fun vibe and great for people watching.
Family friendly, group friendly, dog friendly, and chock full of various seating areas, lawn games and music.
Another local spot - it's sister property is The Block in...
