It took 1 and 1/2 hours to settle in a room since arrival. Despite I requested late check in prior to arrival, this is the service we got. No bellboy, no signs of bellboy, but instead ring bell and wait sign, no cart, no help, not clean rooms, no one answer front desk, no restaurants open, closed delivery drop off area, no hot water…. Unbelievable. It was a snow day, it took longer than we thought to get there. It supposed to be a fun and special trip, instead a nightmare, the worst hotel experience we got.
Awful awful awful experience. It was horrible. Stained mattress, end up changing room three times. The manager Clinton told us to bring our luggage ourselves, and refused to give us a cart. We had three days worth of luggage plus three year old. Clinton did not care, as manager, he showed no caring or offering help. No kindness, simply evil.
Luckily other mid-age lady offered us backup plan, called a man from valet to come up to help us. After 30 min of arrival. Why do we have to beg for a cart? I have no idea. We even offer as long as we get a cart, we can bring our stuff by our selves, Clinton did not help us, he said he has no key. What kind of manager is he?
Then, room nightmare began.
It was a nightmare. We stayed there back in January. That time we stayed one night, and we got a sofa bed room, so my son could sleep in it. When we were ready to sleep the sofa bed mattress had brown orange spots. Looks like blood stains, and underneath of table there were tons of trash. Obviously they did not clean. We let go, it was so late night, it was one night trip.
This time, they got us different room first, but the sofa bed had dark spot around head area, so I wanted to change the room. I called front desk no one answer for long time. I went down to lobby to get new key in different floor. Clinton, manager took my old key, and I could not go the new floor, so I had to go back to lobby once again.
Then they got a same room as last January stay, and the stain was still there. After 2 month! They do not clean. I called front desk, no one answer again, this time my husband went down to lobby.
They got new room across from the dirty mattress. We end up brining all the stuff by ourselves. No help.
And this is not the end!
Their Central Cafe must open 24 hrs was closed. We had to order Door Dash, but then they closed food delivery drop off area, so the driver lady was going circle, trying to drop off our food. It took extra 15min in snow late night.
Then they did not have hot water after midnight till 5 am at that night. No one explained us about this when we checked in or prior to arrival.
After we checked out, we complained about Clinton, manager who was so unkind and zero hospitality. Then top of bellboy desk called us, and we were like, no! We had more complains than bellboy!!! We explained the situation, and he said he will share the boss of Clinton, but no one called us since then.
This place is falling apart. Elevator does not work most of the time. Make shaky noise, and actually shakes. The elevator display shows P3 all the time. If you are looking for to stay with good normal experience, I would not go. If you are looking for a dirty room, zero hospitality, power tripping manager, awful service, everything closed earlier than they said, and nothing to eat, this is the place you want to go.
In addition, the third photo is coming from last room we were offered. On the edge, there is an orange spot. Clinton said that was checked by manager, so it should be “Clean. “ It was on the edge…, and it was third time. We gave up.
The hotel respond cookie cutter response to all the bad reviews such as we will bring the issue to management, and we will take this issue seriously type of things… but they don’t. It is obvious, they don’t.
If you do not believe me, go to the hotel check underneath of the table, open up sofa bed, who knows what’s on their regular mattress… too scared to look… to be honest. May be I should have… I was too tired though… my stay was 03/17/2025 for 3 nights. I will never...
Read moreSince it's listed as a resort, I'm going to review the resort as a whole.
Checking in. Super easy and quick.
Rooms. This is obviously an older hotel but the room itself seemed updated. Clean. The bathroom was on the small size but again very clean. The shower was a walk in and nice size. Room safe, mini fridge, closet. Your basic hotel room amenities.
I give hotels bad reviews when they don't allow me to connect my own entertainment to the television. It was easy to do and I was able to change the input setting from the remote control. At the end of the day I want to be entertained and I don't want to have to rely on some cheesy hotel television entertainment. So A+ here. Though no wifi. Downgrade to A.
Food/Drink There's a coffee shop right outside the elevators so we were able to get my wife's coffee in the morning. She drinks simple coffee with half/half. This place charged a reasonable price for the coffee, and if you bring your cup back, a small refill charge.
There are lots of restaurants here in The Row (Silver Legacy, Circus Circus, El Dorado). Unfortunately, a few of them are not open during the weekdays. This was disappointing. And it was not easy to get around. And by that I meant it was hard to figure out where to go. We only located one map that told us where we were in relationship to everywhere else, but the maps were very confusing. We asked an employee how to get to a particular restaurant, and the employee was unable to help us because even she was confused by the layout.
It seemed like there were escalators and stairs everywhere. It reminded me of MC Escher's painting "Relativity".
Central Cafe restaurant was okay and reasonably priced for most items. Gordon Ramsay's fish and chips, was overpriced and just decent. The pizza shop in the food court was actually really good, and again reasonably priced.
There was a pastry shop, between El Dorado and Silver Legacy. It's close to where we found the map. Lots of pastry items to choose from. Some of these same items were also available in the coffee shop. So if you have a sweet tooth, check it out.
If you're going to have to pay for drinks, get ready to get a loan. We were gambling at a few slot machines in a particular area and hadn't seen a waitress in probably about an hour. We got tired of waiting so I went to one of the bars by the sportsbook to order a couple drinks. They weren't doubles or anything, just two simple alcohol drinks. OJ with tequila and Redbull with vodka. I was expecting to pay a hefty $10 a drink, but the total was just shy of $30. Not doing that again. Caesars, trust me, you've already made enough money off of me at the casino to pay for the drinks a few hundred times over. You don't need to gouge me when I'm paying cash at the bar...
Entertainment. Well, not so much. Again, we were here during the week and all the shows they advertised were for the weekend. It's not like this place was dead though. There should have been something. Some smaller places I've been to have had a singer playing a guitar with a backing track to entertain you during the evening at one of the bars. Not here. Just table games and slot machines. Karaoke was advertised for Thursday night at one of the bars that was closed all week but we passed by it several times that night and unless karaoke started really late, it didn't look like it was going to happen.
Not planning on going back to Reno. If we did, we would consider staying here again if just for the room. We've talked to other people since then, and we've been told there are better hotel/casinos in the area. Maybe we'll try one of them next time.
Probably...
Read moreI tried Silver Legacy for the first time in June for my 17th Anniversary. First thing I would say is this is the first time I've been anywhere that didn't care about couples on vacation. They didn't ask and as my wife was makin chit chat mentioning the reason for our stay and it had been about 12 yrs since even going to Reno the person helping was just functional. Anyway, we usually go to the beach somewhere but wanted to have some fun and maybe gamble a little this year, we will not make this mistake again. We usually get complimentary wine, a card... nothing here. Most hotels want happy couples and returns and they show it. The room was pretty nice, we got the player suite and you could tell they're probably doing some maint. (maybe why they don't spring for any extra hospitality) or they should be. I like heights and this didn't disappoint (34th floor). Great big tub with nice square walls so you don't slide around and 2 will fit with a little leg overlapping. Its also in the room with the bed, a real party set up. The shower is oddly shaped so not easy to shower with 2 but it adds an appealing style to the bathroom and the large glass door swings in either direction. The pressure was good but I had to get closer to the wall than I like to get fully under the spray. Nobody likes to rub their bare body on shower walls, the head should be on a different wall than the one chosen. We had 2 sink areas which is a first but one had a make-up mirror and it appeared to be more directly lit for the ladies perhaps. The bed and pillows were to soft for me but most like that sort of thing, very plush. Cool charging dock next to the bed that appeared to have every charging port type available today. I had to swap night stands around because my wife needed the dock but it was screwed/attached to the nightstand. Luckily nightstand wasn't bolted down! Maybe put a charger on both nightstands. There is a couple of robes for use and slippers (maybe size 9... 10 at a stretch_) to keep if you wish. There is a fridge but they seem to have shrunk as we had a hard time fitting a couple drinks and some snacks. The latch in place of a chain was very loose and no chance it would do any good of keeping the door closed if called upon. The towel rack in the bathroom also very loose and just might pop off if a 3rd towel was added. No microwave but they do have room service well into the evening. The place is need of some pro craftsmanship. Despite the dim lighting you can tell the work done is quite mediocre or in need of refreshing. There was bits of tape on the ceiling, loose fixtures, missing caulking, etc. We don't use house keeping but calling for towels and such they were quick. No choice for vending machines in the vending area but the ice machine was centrally located. The valet was also very quick and efficient. The casino was quite bare, tables mostly closed and it didn't seem to matter what time of day. This was not the Reno that I remembered. Overall it wasn't the worst I've stayed in but far from the best as well. Its cheaper than the beach but I wasn't as happy here. There was some menopause play and womens bowling going on for the week so maybe that had something to do with the...
