First Impression - As said "First impression is the last impression". And, My first impression of this place was not good. I went there alone and when i entered the resturant, they had a table at the entrance with bunch of menus on it. Moment i entered the resturant, the Bartender simply asked me loudly picking up food? I said no dining in. and she said you can pick one menu and sit where you want. Ambience - decent ambience. simple wooden tables with simple chairs. Not too fancy interior. When the server asked to take my order and i told her i am here for the first time and if she can give some recommendations - she is like everything is good, you can order anything. Anyways what i ordered, Basil Stir fry and Thai Iced tea. The food was served pretty quick and the food was pretty decent. I liked the food. Sitting - they have sitting outside as well but it was raining when i went so that was closed. Defenitely recommend this place.

Having been to the Sacramento midtown location, being in Reno for business I just had to stop in. I wanted to see if the Reno location would be as good as the 5-star Sacramento restaurant. IT IS! Okay, I started off with fresh rolls, and calamari appetizers, these were SO GOOD. OMG, then the Drunken Noodle dish, it was spectacular. I always order Thai Tea when I am home in Sacramento, so I tried it in Reno. PERFECT. The owner (Ric) was super attentive and he was excited to learn that I was from Sacramento. He recommended we try new IPA beers which were great. The interaction with the staff was awesome. It is so good to see an owner who is kind, supportive and attentive with his staff. I will be going back to the Coconut Downtown on my next Reno trip.

2 words. Pumpkin Curry. I've eaten here several times and I have no complaints. Always flavorful, hot, and well cooked, so 5 stars. I mean just look at the food. It tastes every bit as good as it looks. The location has one of the best views of the downtown and financial district with the biggest little skyscrapers in the west. There's 7 American flags within view of the patio. Am I missing any? Visit, eat, and drink and get some ice cream next door cause it's damn good.

My husband will never let me hear the end of it as it was my turn to choose, and we came here for dinner one Saturday night. We lived in Asia for many years and are used to spice and the amazing flavor of Thai food. Restaurants usually let you know that certain dishes are spicy and give you the option the bring the level down. Here the young servers didn't explain anything, particularly that you start at zero spice and can request a high spiciness level; as a result, we ended up with a bland selection of food. The presentation was pretty but were let down dish after dish. Papaya salad was more of a garden salad, the eggrolls seemed to have been fried frozen but not given enough time to cook inside, and a chicken dish had fish oil as the dominant flavor. The staff only came to the table when dropping off or picking up food. I think the place has a lot of potential, great location for business lunches, nice people, pretty space. I wish I could give it...

Green curry was perfect spicy sweet. Tom kha was on point. The basil beef was surprisingly light for what can be heavy dish.

Our server was very sweet and helpful. For atmosphere, it was very dead, but Sunday night after icy cold weekend near closing time probably explains that.

The only odd thing is when we walked in (we were only ones there), one of the employees who couldn't trouble himself to look up from phone, tells us without looking, to grab our own menus and sit anywhere. Later a man comes in for pick up and that same employee trys to hand him off three bags of food without even standing up or really even making contact. Then, all the other employees (including our nice server) were cleaning up to get ready for closing... and he just kept sitting there scrolling through his phone and never helping out. Not sure if he was off the clock, but i sure hope so. Because if he were my paid employee, he'd be...
