Burger Street — Restaurant in Richardson

This used to be my favorite burger place when in a hurry. It was always hot and fresh. I didn’t mind paying a couple extra dollars. My last trip here however to pick up food for some teacher friends and myself was absolutely exasperating. 😵‍💫

The food was not prepared as ordered. It was all stuffed into two bags that you couldn’t close. (…of course it wasn’t going to stay hot. In hindsight, I guess I should’ve asked for another bag, so won’t knock them comPLETEly for that. But I guess they either couldn’t affordan extra bag(??) (even though paying $11 for just the burger alone I believe!), or didn’t have the common sense to just do that in the first place). To top all, I’m sorry, but it’s very frustrating when you’re giving an order to somebody who speaks a different language other than English and they don’t understand you??? … and you have to repeat yourself over and over, and over again. I should’ve thought to take everything out of the bags and examined each individual hamburger 🤯 But, I took for granted that they would get it right (silly me), drove it back to my school, where everybody was unhappy and had to pay me $13-14 for a hamburger and fries that weren’t right and were COLD. The food is good, but if the staff misunderstands you they'll blame you. I ordered a chicken strip basket (3 piece) and asked for 1 spicy and 2 regular. I heard the lady tell the cooks that right after I said it, and originally it was correct. Then when they finally got it for me (my friend had to go and ask for it because it seemed as though they had forgotten about my order) they had it backwards; 2 spicy and one regular. I pointed out the mistake and she just shrugged and went back into the kitchen. I tried to go and tell them of the mistake and the lady tried to tell me that's what I said, when I know I didn't because I rarely ever even order spicy chicken when it's fried (I ordered it so I could bring one home to give to my husband), and I even heard her tell the kitchen the correct way I ordered it right after I said it. I think they honestly forgot about my order and didn't remember which way I had asked for it but instead of taking responsibility, tried to blame it on me which leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Very conflicting review for me, as this place is a childhood favorite, but lately quality is lacking, interior doesn't look clean more often then not, soggy fries, sloppy presentation, and more recent price bump dont help it. With all that being said, when the food is done right... its delicious, plain and simple. One of a kind taste?... no!... it's just a lightly sated beef patty that can be done at home. Even so, this is still many peoples burger joint, mine included. When comparing portion to price, it's still pretty good in my personal opinion, plus saving the dishes and clean up 😄. But honestly the sad truth is that despite the inconsistencies on food quality here and there, I still end up going for a good old sweet tea for 1$. Large please!!! But just yesterday I was told I couldn't order a Large sweet tea, only small or regular!!! Despite the advertising board not saying any different.
