Editing my previous review..went again on 09/22. Service was awesome and food was perfect this time. Amanda (same woman mentioned earlier but now know her name) was just as nice and awesome as she was before. She had a smile on her face before I even made it to the counter.
My mom and I were in on 07/25 for lunch. I would love to give 5 star review but just can't. Out of 6 tacos that we ordered, 3 were not correct. I was cashed out by Elizabeth, she got our order wrong. I went back to the front to let them know that one of my tacos were incorrect, and the other cashier took immediate action and got it fixed right away. When she came out with my new taco, my mother's had arrived and two of hers were put on the wrong tortilla. The same cashier insisted on getting it fixed right away, and she did. She did it with a smile and was so very apologetic and kind. She brought out the new tacos quick and she saved the experience. Never did see a manager to speak with them about it. It is possible the other cashier was a manager as she handled it quickly and came back to check on us and make sure the rest of our experience was what it should be. I forgot to ask her name, but she straight brown hair, and a warm smile. She is definitely an asset. If it wasn't for her, I would be giving a 2...
Read moreSuper disappointed. Torchy’s Tacos has been mine and my wife’s favorite favorite favorite taco joint. I’ve been coming for over 8 years. She’s been coming for over 13 years. So a very long track record. Since the pandemic, Torchy’s hasn’t been the same. Not even close. We’ve eaten at different locations all over Texas. The Campbell location is closest to our home so we’re been there probably 6 times since the pandemic. It’s literally gotten worse each time we visit. Tonight we received our queso after our tacos because they told us they were making another batch. It came out Luke warm at best and the chips were stale. My wife got the Reefer and said it was fish jerky. Her Brushfire chicken was dry. I got the Trailer Park trashy and the chicken was tiny. For $5.05 you think there would be a little more chicken but over all it was ok. I also got the Crossroads and the brisket was super dry and tasted old. So incredibly disappointed. I’m hoping this review reaches some higher ups and they make some changes. But until then, this is our last visit. Velvet taco is literally next door and we’ve never had an issue there, although I don’t like their tacos as much as I used to like Torchy’s. My wife loves Velvet taco more than...
Read moreAny time I travel to Texas I make a point of going to Torchy's (although it's becoming less necessary to wait, as they seem to be everywhere now).
The bar looked very busy, so I asked if I could order a drink up at the front counter, where there was no wait. They said yes, but it seems like there's not really an efficient system for getting it to you. You'll likely have to go up to the bar and tell them what you ordered, which defeated the whole purpose of why I ordered it at the front. I sat at a high-top near the bar and watched one bartender ask who my drink was for after the other made it and just sat it down. He said "I don't know, it just came through," so I went over and told them it was mine.
Can't complain about the service too much, though. One of them had to explain to a girl that the "weird texture fatty meat" on her taco was just the bark 🙄 yet he still offered to refund it, which was a kind gesture.
Decided to try a couple new (to me) tacos. Got the matator (off the secret menu) and the tipsy chick. Both were good, although I don't think either was my favorite taco I've ever had at a Torchy's. The matador was definitely my...
