Well, that happened. A Public Service Announcement
First off, I’d like to congratulate the owners for having such a large family or friends. This is the only way to explain the many reviews that claim this place “walks on water.” I just ate there. Those claims are insensible. Lazeez doesn’t walk on water. It flails in the kiddie pool. The building is a repurposed drive-through bank or ice cream shop. The dining room was ad-hoc, clean but obviously not designed for purpose. The décor was limited to a plant in the corner and a large television endlessly cycling through AI-generated visual vignettes that alternated between creepy and juvenile. The service was disorganized and disjointed. There were only two occupied tables in the restaurant, but staff was not on task and inattentive. The entrees came out several minutes apart, and service was disjointed. These were positive highlights compared to the food. What to say about the pita? Dry and stale, an embarrassment to hundreds of years of Mediterranean culinary culture – if it came from a grocery store it was also an unhappy hostage, abused and neglected over days in a closet. Hummus? Without favor or consistency. The meat? Dry, overcooked and tasteless; shortcomings only made less by the fact that there was so little offered. The vegetables and salad, although fresh, were generally drowned in vinegar. And the prices? Much too high, especially considering the value. McDonald’s is right next door. Lazeez is going to have to up its game to be successful against that competition. The tri-cities is no longer a backwater. Many vibrant, interesting, and quality establishments are entering the stage. Among these actors, Lazeez won’t pass an audition. We paid. We left. We won’t be going back. True, no one has botulism, but it was 45 minutes wasted and an opportunity for lunch, gone. Do yourself a favor. There are many better choices. Pick...
Read moreDisclaimer: my review is only on the shawarma. The service was wonderful and quick and the restaurant felt nice to be in. I'm sure if you like or try Mediterranean food you will LOVE this place!
I saw this place opened as I was parking next to it to eat my lunch. Decided to give it a try a couple days later because I love shawarma and havent had a decent one in a long time. I was met with some kind faces who were willing to help me immediately to have a takeout order. I honestly have nothing to complain about service or quality wise.
I had ordered the chicken shawarma combo which came with a shawarma that had garlic sauce, seasoned chicken, and a singular fry inside. There was a side salad, side pickels, and a extra thing of sauce on the side. Though not shown in the image the rest of the shawarma was underneath the fries. The chicken was juicy but it was seared on a griddle instead of a rotisserie (slight difference in texture than shawarma I've had elsewhere).
The seasonings on the chicken were heavy in some places and light in others leaving a weird flavor imbalance as you ate. I also wish there were a few more fries in the shawarma. I don't know if it's because it's more Mediterranean focused or I'm just used to middle eastern shawarma, but it just left a bit to be desired.
That being said the 18.99 price tag for the meal is so border line on if it's even worth it. You get a crap ton of chicken in your shawarma and the side fries are good, but I don't know if $20 after tax is worth the meal. I don't think I'd go back due to personal taste preferences, but if I did I would order a beef shawarma to compare and just get...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Lazeez Mediterranean Restaurant, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. We ordered the Family Grill Platter, and it was absolutely amazing! The meats were perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor, and the generous portions made it an excellent choice for sharing.
The service was outstanding—our server was attentive, polite, and ensured that everything was to our liking. What made the experience even more special was the personal touch from Chef Abu Firas, who came to our table to greet us. His warmth and friendliness truly added a unique touch to the meal, making us feel like valued guests.
The ambiance was lovely as well, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for families and friends. I highly recommend Lazeez for anyone craving Mediterranean cuisine. We’ll definitely...
