First off, Tina is extremely accommodating and patient. My sisters and I visited from western Washington, and I emailed Tina a million questions. She helped me figure out what she offered, so we could place a big order before we went there. She had the order ready for us and even threw in a bunch of free stuff. The kids loved the cupcakes and gobbled them down as fast as they could. My sisters loved the brownies and creme brulee bar, and I really enjoyed the lemon pound cake bar. The hand pies are very large and are packed with filling, but the flavor and texture of the crust are lacking a bit. Unfortunately, it seems like many of the items Tina sells are only half way to hitting the nail on the head. Many of her items are too cakey and need a bit more salt to really push them over the edge. The cherry pie filling has a very strong almond extract flavor which is off putting and the crust needs more snap to it. It's very soft, instead of having the traditional flakey pie crust texture. I heated the pie up and put some glaze on it, and that helped it a bit. All of the cookies are also very cakey, thick, and dry. I was super excited to try the cherry chocolate chip cookie, but it literally tasted like nothing unless you bit into a chocolate chip. You'd never know it was supposed to have cherries just by the taste. The eggnog snickerdoodle cookie tasted like it had no salt at all. It was super thick and dry and was quite hard to swallow. The hand pies are the best thing I tried, even though the crust could be better. You never find gluten-free hand pies that big and with that much filling, so I'm so excited we found them, even if they need a bit of tweaking. Overall, this isn't the best gluten-free food I've ever tried, but it's definitely...

While Christmas shopping at the Uptown Mall in Richland, Washington, we stumbled upon Tina's Tasty Treats, a charming gluten-free bakery and coffee shop. Drawn in by the festive window display, we decided to stop and give it a try.
The experience was nothing short of delightful. We sampled several gluten-free cookies, all of which were incredible, and I enjoyed a freshly brewed coffee. Tina herself greeted us warmly and shared her inspiring story of how her passion for creating gluten-free and low-allergy treats grew from her personal journey with allergies. It’s clear that her dedication and love for what she does shine through in every bite.
Tina's shop offers an impressive variety of gluten-free options, including fresh-baked bread and customizable treats to meet any dietary need. In addition to her baked goods, there were plenty of thoughtful gift items that made the shop feel even more special.

Read moreWe were surprised and curious about this gluten free bakery in Uptown, and left loaded with treats that were absolutely delectable. Tina greeted us, and was happy to go over all the offerings. Over the course of the convo, her passion in her baking really showed - she'll tell you all about her thought process, her sourcing, etc - she really cares about the quality of her products, and she's really intentional about the ingredients used as well (natural sugars, real fruit, etc). She's also very allergy conscious, so there's egg free options, vegan, and I believe a few soy free items (or maybe that's in the works). All in all we tried the sourdough bread, gingerbread cookies, pecan pie bar, apple hand pie and strawberry rhubarb hand pie. Everything we had was excellent! My favorites were the gingerbread cookies (perfect amount of spice and salt), pecan pie bar (omfg to die for), and the strawberry rhubarb hand pie (so full of fruit, and not overly sweet). We will definitely be stocking up here any time...
