Wendy's — Restaurant in Richmond Hill

If I could give no stars I would. I don't know where to start. As a truck driver looking for food on this Friday 10/6/23 this Wendy's sits right across the street fromTA Truck Stop all drivers are going to places in the surrounding area on this strip because the Popeyes and Fuddruckers are closed permanently. I tried to get something to eat from Wendy's went to all 3 doors and were locked saw employees on the inside and all they did was throw up their hands. They could've at least came to the door and said hey we're only taking drive thru orders or something or could've at least took my order at the door. I counted 6 employees including the manager on duty who's name was Garrett. I walked to the window in drive thru and asked could they open the door as I am a truck driver they said no. The kid at the window who's name was Gavin had a slick attitude and the manager who was standing next to him Garrett said he couldn't do anything about it regardless of if I'm a truck driver or not. I spent my money elsewhere because do you know how degrading it is as a woman to stand up in a drive thru line just to order some food with people looking at you crazy. This is not the 1950s where they told people to go to the back of the restaurant. I don't know who own this particular chain and I don't know who the district manager is but this a bad look. And that manager Garrett nees to be retrained and rethought on how to be a human because if it was him he would feel the same way. I'm not some homeless looking person standing up trying to get food I'm decent looking amd came to get me something to eat so I could have a good lunch on my break. So this Wendy's... well I can tell you that the taste and freshness of the food along with the friendliness of the worker/manager saved this from being a 1 star rating. The dining room is closed, no big deal as everybody has to go through the drive-thru. The first issue was that the drive-thru line took forever just to get to the window. I'm talking multiple minutes here. Then the lady at the window said an order that wasn't ours. We politely corrected her and asked to add on something. She didn't know how and had to ask somebody. Cool no problem. Then we were handed our drinks and the orange juice wasn't very cold at all, but we didn't notice until we had left. We were then asked to pull up and they would bring our food out. Okay again no problem, have had that happen 100 times in my life. However, we then sat for 14 minutes before our food was brought out to us. The girl was very polite and apologized and said that they gave our food to somebody else and they thought we had left. Once they realized we were still outside they made our food fresh. They also upgraded our fries to large and gave us an extra one for free and we didn't even ask. The chicken on a biscuit with maple syrup was delicious, as good as chick fil a! The sausage egg and cheese on the biscuit was just okay, I didn't care for the egg at all and taking it off didn't help much. Their vanilla coffee drink was very good as well, until the ice melted and it got watered down but that's no fault of theirs. Overall great customer service by one employee and good tasting food saved this experience. But because of the rest of the experience we won't be going back to...

We stopped here on 2/16 in the 5pm hour on our drive back to FL. The dining room was closed. We were the only ones in the drive thru. The boy that was taking our order became agitated and you could clearly hear it in his voice. We must have interrupted his 'free time'. He was very rude and nasty. We ordered a bacon Jr cheese burger with ketchup. I received a regular cheeseburger with just ketchup. We also ordered a classic chicken on the pretzel bun meal. They must have thought it was funny to put spicy chicken on it. The joke was on them though, the person liked spicy. This establishment is a serious joke. If I wanted a cheeseburger with only ketchup ( no other toppings) that is what I would have ordered. The KIDS working here have horrible attitudes and clearly cannot make an order correctly. They need a manager that makes sure they are doing their jobs correctly. Complete waste of money. We will never stop here again. We should have known something was up when there were no other cars there. If I could give zero stars, I would.
