I came to this location with my friend and my son for the first time. The atmosphere was nice and there wasn’t a lot of people at the establishment, so you would think the wait wouldn’t be long. It was the exact opposite. Once we were seated the waitress took forever to take our order but a group of people (Caucasian) came in after us and she immediately took their order. It was over 30 mins before we received our food but while we were waiting we noticed the same people in front of us received Queso cheese with their chips so we asked for some; it was watered down and there was a big floating in my water. The guacamole I had for my quesadillas was good but there was more tortillas than steak (very overpriced for the amount of food). My friend placed a take out order before we left, she had to ask for her order and it took another 45 mins for that to come out. The restaurant wasn’t that busy. I will not return to this restaurant…. You can tell they favor one race over the other and that’s not how you should run a place of business.

I went to Kahlo’s with a group of 3 friends and we had a great time. We were seated on the patio, which was nice and spacious. The service was fast and friendly, and the food was delicious. They also gave us free chips and salsa, which were crunchy and fresh. I had a 3 taco meal, which came with rice and beans. I had barbacoa, and two chorizo tacos, which were flavorful and juicy. We all enjoyed some Tecate and margs, which were refreshing and strong. Two of them got a big burrito, which was filling and satisfying. My other friend got a chorizo burger thing, which was stellar. It was a huge burger with chorizo, cheese, avocado, lettuce, tomato and onion. It looked amazing and he said it was one of the best burgers he ever had. Kahlo’s is a great place to go for authentic Mexican food and drinks. It’s got a fun atmosphere and a reasonable price. I can’t wait to go back! 🌮🍔🍹

recently visited Kahlos with high hopes, especially because of the vegan options they offer. As someone who is lactose intolerant, I ordered the vegan queso, assuming it would be a safe choice. Unfortunately, shortly after eating it, I began to feel extremely unwell. I had a severe allergic reaction and was rushed to the hospital. To make matters worse, no one at the restaurant could provide me with a clear list of ingredients for the vegan queso. For anyone with dietary restrictions or allergies, this lack of transparency is concerning. I would strongly advise that Kahlos make ingredient information readily available and train staff to answer these critical questions. The margaritas were enjoyable, but until the restaurant addresses ingredient transparency, I can’t recommend it to anyone with food allergies or intolerances.

My wife and I came here just for the tacos. The place was really nice and was a great atomphere with the option to be indoors or outdoors. They had music as well, which is always a plus with me. Upon entering we waited just a little longer than we had to for someone to greet us. The place was not busy at all. We got there approximately 1pm on a Tuesday. The guy who greeted us came and asked how many and we told him 4 b/c our friends were going to meet us in a few. He walked off and didn't say anything, no "right this way" or "follow me, come with me" Nothing. We're pretty smart people so about time he got to the back of the restaurant to go outside we were like, ok lets follow him..b/c he was standing there holding the door open. He didn't look back or wave us to come..we just hurried along and meet up with him then followed him outside. He told us to pick wherever we wanted to sit and he walked away again without saying anything. Moments later he came back with chips and salsa, which were delicious, might I add then walked away again! So we started on our chips and salsa and it was kind of spicy for me. We didn't have any water or wasn't asked before he left so my mouth was burning lol. We waited for about ten minutes before My Wife said, "Ill go get you some water." She went inside and some other waiter followed her back outside asking if we had a waiter or not. We told him NO, which to me...I feel like at this point he should of taken over and became our waiter. He left and came back with 2 waters then walked off. Our friends eventually came which was about 10 minutes later but still no waiter or return visit from the guy who brought us our water. About 10 minutes later Our Waiter finally came, which was someone completely different. What blew me also was there was another female waitress standing next to our table talking to one of the guest having a personal conversation. I feel she should of picked up on the fact that we weren't getting service and offered to help or find whomever was supposed to be waiting on us. Anyway, the waiter took our drink orders and got that wrong and that forever too. He seemed nervous or something, I couldn't quite figure out what his issue was. When we told him two of the drinks were wrong, he kinda threw his hands up like, oh no but didn't offer to fix it! That's what I was waiting on. He just perceeded to take our food order. At that point we were just ready to order because we've been waiting about an hour now. Probably the worst part was noticing EVRRY SINGLE TABLE got their food before us, when we had been there before them. Some of the tables had the exact same meal we ordered. A taco salad and tacos do not take an hour..im sorry! This restaurant was unorganized and our waiter was clearly the problem. We voiced our issue and concern but he blamed it on the kitchen. I felt he should of asked for help or just owned it. Like, ask for some runners or assistance if you can't do your job efficiently. Overall, we were not happy and almost walked off and left everything there. We are NOT those type of people even though we probably was judged walking through the door based off the service we got. Getting our food dead LAST! We went ahead an tipped him anyway..the correct amount but we WILL NOT BE RETURNING. Hope this review helps someone before going to this...

STAY AWAY from Khalo’s Churchill—a nightmare

I wanted to much to love and support this family-owned restaurant. But everything was horrible. We considered many times walking out, but stuck it through and even paid for everything at the end, even though I didn’t end up eating anything. I left with a stomach ache and a bad taste in my mouth.

Waited for out food for close to 2 hours and then got served cold, bland food, wrong items, bad margaritas (syrupy sugar water with no sign of alcohol ($16).

After being seated and waiting for a long time without water or chips, we found out we were not assigned a server. A server nearby noticed and offered to take our order, then came back 20 mins later saying she lost our ticket. We put our entire order in again. The server warned us the kitchen is having issues so the wait for food was going to be long. Still, our food came out cold and appetizer didn’t make it to the table after food and drinks (after another reminder to the server). I was served meat when I asked for vegetarian potato tacos. I spit it out and didn’t eat another bite.

We felt bad for the server who was nice yet inexperienced to deal with all the restaurants issues.

The owner was shmoozing with friends ant the bar and not attending to servers who needed help or tables who needed food.

They said I was: Uneducated and just looking for a free meal (Somehow) racist against her undocumented immigrant mother (i never mentioned citizen status and I also come from a immigrant family)

“I bet you can’t even have kids” (what an out of left-field direct quote, very thinly veiled fat-phobia) while looking pointedly at my stomach The son said many racist things and that he was going to call the cops on me even though he was not my server and I didn’t address him.

All inappropriate, outright oppressive, and...

We ordered through DoorDash and I have to say this is some of the worst “Mexican” food I’ve ever had. Here is a summary of all the issues:

We ordered salsa and got absolutely no salsa. The jamaica was awful. Bitter and tart in the worst way and nothing like you get in authentic Mexican restaurants or even in Mexico. I got three different tacos: chorizo/potato, carne asada, al pastor. The chorizo/potato was decent but not great. The carne asada meat was gray. You read that correctly, it was the color of beef that’s been sitting out for too long then cooked. The meat tasted like it had absolutely no seasoning on it. The al pastor taco tasted abundantly of fake pineapple and, again, the meat taste like there was no seasoning on it. The queso and guac were okay but nothing beyond what would be expected out of a basic Mexican restaurant. Very small portions for what you pay.

I ended up throwing the majority of my food away which is disappointing given the price point.

Overall, the food was very disappointing. To call this Mexican food would be an insult to authentic Mexican cuisine. Casa del Barco is far better and they’re not even...
