This was my first experience here came on an invite to watch a performance by "THE ARTIST" which was excellent arrived on stage about quarter after 12am doors opened at 10pm even though flyers said doors opens at 9pm-2am. which I arrived at 9:06pm but I was patient and stayed till 1:45am after the Artist performance...there security was alil loose that night seemed like it was a special event by a new establishment called "THE PLAYGROUND" so maybe communication was not clear on staffing from what I heard& witnessed that night..the space was decent music/DJs was great good vibes all night..now waitress staff was horrible not once did i get asked if I needed a drink or anything as the passed me several times throughout the night nor did they when they sat or approached other guest sitting on both sides of me which I thought was rude/unprofessional/different experience for me....overall good night and it was decent plenty crowd after 11pm. I never ate nor drank anything so I can not give my view on that parking on weekends are free but slim may have to park elsewhere or get dropped off....

Had the pleasure of going to the "Saturday Night Live"/ All Black Christmas party. No cover charge if there before 11:30pm and rsvp thru eventbrite. Very new, nice venue with open concept and ample seating (booths and tables). Hookah offered, but declined. DJ was on!!! No played out top 40 for the millenials folks, sorry. Beautiful service girls and bar staff, and security onsite from entrance and within. Dress code enforced. Drinks were good, long island was $11, small cup but ok price for start up. Everyone was friendly. Even Comedian Tony Rock came out to party. Very pleasant surprise as I missed the his sold out show. Small minus for no outside smoking area and business name confusion...thought it was called #Goldroom but saw Main stage on my drink receipt. Overall great. Hope this spot lasts, wont be a secret for long.

3.5 Obviously not gonna be harsh here as its still in soft launch. We were walking down our usual path nd saw the board open for lunch and tried it. We were the only ones having lunch at the time. Service was pleasant and greetings were good. Its a dance club and ambience lighting suits very well, looks fancy. We ordered veggie burger, we liked the taste but putting broccoli in burger is fine; but i would prefer it binded or in a patty rather veggies lying around. Chicken and shrimp quesadillas tastes good; but has lots of grease, also may be need to add little more cheese so it food binds rather than falling apart. Waffles and chicken were on the expensive side. Also there is no maple syrup. Overall lunch potentially could attract more employees who work around if they could drop prices a but and add more varieties.

Tonight, my fiance and I had the very unfortunate experience of visiting Main Stage. The staff was very warm and greeting initially coming into the bistro even though it took them a good 5 minutes to even hand us menus. After we received menus, they ended up asking us if we wanted to order food first, which is not customary because normally anywhere I go I am asked if I want something to drink first. Obviously, that was the very first red flag. After ignoring the first sign that this would be an interesting experience, my fiance and I ended up receiving our first set of drinks. After my fiance and I finished our drinks, they took another 10 to 15 minutes to even ask if we wanted something else to drink. Upon obtaining our second set of drinks we ended up ordering food. We then proceeded to wait for our food. After a lengthy time of something close to an hour to even get our food, I was immediately ready to leave. I informed the bartender that I was ready to go ahead and pay for the drinks and leave. The bartender told me that the food was going to come out in a few minutes which actually took over 15 extra minutes to receive. While waiting the extra time it took for our order there were some individuals that were sitting a few seats down from us that ended up getting their entire meals, consuming the meals, and paying their bill all during the start of our wait when they arrived to the establishment after we did. After my fiance and I received our order we were surprised to see that the seafood nachos looked like something that should only take about 10 minutes to make tops. Also, there were less than 20 customers Inside of the establishment when my fiance and I received our order but less than 10 when we showed up. In the defense of the establishment, the food was not bad, however, after having a very long anddisappointing time waiting for slow service, I ended up getting the check and it was very high considering that my fiance and I only had a few alcoholic beverages. The thing that made the bill so high was that they charged me each time I got a refill on soda. Can you believe that? I am used to establishments giving customers free refills on soda. This establishment ranks number 4 on my top 5 worst places I have been to in my entire life, and I am 35 years old. I am an advocate of supporting black business, but at the same time this was very disappointing, and I was very shocked, appalled, and mortified at the low level of service that I obtained at this establishment. To any brave individual that decides to go there after reading this, please be advised, proceed with caution, especially when going to the men's bathroom. I had to exit the bathroom just to wash my hands because the toilet is in a narrow space between 2 walls. There is no sink by the toilet, it is outside of the small toilet area. Needless to say, this establishment will never get another dime of my...

Great Food Horrible Service The food here is great if you get a chance to eat it. If you call in it took 7 tries before someone picked up. When you dine in the entire staff was just sitting around and arguing playing loud music. It didn't seem like a restaurant or that it was ready to accommodate anyone. The servers switched half way through. The staff is arguing while we're there cursing at each other. Everyone is eating grabbing steak knives from this bin in the corner that no one is quite sure if anything is clean in. Second time we tried we called in. Took literally 7 calls before someone answers. The same server from the day before with the bad attitude. When we got inside she was sitting on the couch smoking hookah , eating, watching tv, and on her computer. It doesn't seem like anyone works there. Food was no problem even though it seems like there's a huge difference portion wise between yesterday and today. Just really seems like they need some real training. Everyone sitting around on couches watching us eat or on their phones doesn't make it seem like a real establishment. Especially when there's clearly stuff that could've been done because there was a roach from a blunt on the floor. They need some training or...

On Halloween night, Richmond live threw a monster ball they said to buy the tickets on eventbrite. When we saw the flyer and the description on Eventbrite, it said we would get three floors and four DJs. They lied in their description they said that each floor would have a different genre of music, they lied about their hookah prices and their drink prices. In the description it says that drinks were gonna be from 5 to 9 dollars during Power hour 10 to 11. They lied about the $25 hookahs. The event was supposed to start at 10 nothing was set up on time they were late setting up the event. We ended up paying regular club prices for the drinks and the hookah. Service was very poor, Very rude staff. They were charging top price for bottom shelf, liquor only 10 bottles no beer is like somebody told one of their staff to go to the ABC store and grab whatever they could find. The furniture was made out of hardwood the tables look like they were gonna fall apart at any moment The bathrooms are DISGUSTING . They had a janitor that wasn’t cleaning up. No tissue in the bathroom toilets did not flush. And they’re serving liquor with no food DONT WASTE...
