My recent lunch excursion to Carytown Indian Cuisine with my family was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting atmosphere.
We started our meal with some cocktails, each expertly crafted and bursting with flavor. As we perused the menu, we decided to indulge in a variety of appetizers and entrees to sample the breadth of flavors offered.
The Lamb Chaat appetizer was a standout, with tender lamb perfectly seasoned and bursting with flavor. The Gobi appetizer was a delightful surprise, with each bite melting in our mouths and leaving us craving more.
For our main course, the Dal Makhani was an absolute hit, with its rich, creamy texture and perfectly balanced spices. It was the epitome of comfort food done right. Additionally, the Mango Kulfi dessert transported us to culinary paradise, with its creamy texture and exotic flavors leaving a lasting impression.
However, not every dish was a hit. The Chocolate Lava Cake fell short of expectations, with a disappointing floury texture that failed to deliver on its promise of decadence.
Despite this minor hiccup, our overall experience at Carytown Indian Cuisine was nothing short of fantastic. From the delectable appetizers to the sumptuous entrees and delightful cocktails, every aspect of our meal was a testament to the culinary expertise and dedication of the chefs.
In conclusion, if you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience that celebrates the vibrant flavors of Indian cuisine, look no further than Carytown Indian Cuisine. Whether you're dining with family, friends, or that special someone, you're sure to leave satisfied and eager to...
Read moreNew favorite Indian spot in Richmond, hands down!! The food is AMAZING! And we've been to a lot of Indian spots in town. For context, my husband loves Indian food and I... am less enthusiastic. But I was absolutely blown away. Literally, writing this review and looking at the photos, I'm already hungry and want to go back, that's how good it was.
The naan was perfect, and both the curries we got were beautifully seasoned. The flavors blended together so well. Sometimes you get curry, and it just hits familiar notes, but the flavors were just so smooth and worked together. I got the Samudari Khazana and the grape and mango just worked. I was very pleasantly surprised. The portion sizes were also generous. We each had a little bit left (though I insisted on finishing the naan so we could enjoy how fresh it was). You could taste the butter on the naan. It wasn't overpowering, but was present, which is how I'd describe the flavors in general. Even the tomato soup was good. No complaints.
We came at the recommendation of a friend who said it was the best Indian she'd had in town and she's not wrong. Plus the service was incredibly attentive as well. The atmosphere is great, and there are indoor and outdoor options. There's nothing to not recommend. If you like Indian food - quite frankly, even if you don't, you should still come....
Read moreThe BEST INDIAN FOOD IN TOWN, hands down, absolutely without question. A stellar, mouth watering experience that will make you feel like you took a flight to India and are eating food of the quality of a grandmothers cooking. The flavors were packed, we ordered a lamb dish that the very kind, friendly waiter recommended. He said “this is one the best”, I trusted him, and I am glad I did because it was amazing. Super flavorful. I could tell the waiter laughed on the inside when I ordered 4/5 spicy, I see why…thought I couldn’t handle it…because they don’t miss out on the spicy, it was super spicy, but in the best way possible. The garlic naan, super super fluffy and tasty, it’s like the bread you Get when you wake up on a weekend morning when you were a young kid and your mom takes you the local bakery, just amazing. Hard to think of more adjectives to describe how Good their food was. It was great environment, beautiful on inside and out. We chose to sit on the patio, do not regret this. It was a fun experience watching all the locals go about their day on the busy Carytown street while we enjoyed a pleasant, tasty Indian meal….I loved it so much. I will for sure come back, I dont Think I will eat at any other Indian restaurant besides this place. Just trust me...
