If there's a culinary crown jewel in Richmond, it's unequivocally The Savory Grain. This restaurant isn't just a dining place; it's a delightful experience that transcends the ordinary. From the moment you step inside, you're wrapped in a warmth that feels like coming home – if home was a haven of gastronomic wonders.

What strikes me most about The Savory Grain is the incredible value. The prices, quite frankly, are a steal for the quality you receive. It's a testament to their commitment to accessible excellence that they don't charge more – though they absolutely could, and we'd gladly pay it! Each dish is a crafted masterpiece, a blend of flavors and textures that dance in your mouth and leave you longing for the next bite.

But let’s talk about the signature cocktails – the best in town, without a shadow of a doubt. The Lemon Drop Martini, in particular, is a revelation. It's the perfect balance of sweet and tart, a cocktail crafted not just with ingredients but with skill and passion. It's the kind of drink that turns a meal into a celebration.

The staff at The Savory Grain are the heart and soul of the establishment. Their welcoming nature makes every visit special. They don't just serve you; they host you, ensuring that your experience is impeccable from start to finish. Their smiles are as genuine as their service, making you feel valued and appreciated.

As for the atmosphere, it’s enchanting. The Savory Grain combines elegance with coziness, creating an ambiance that's both upscale and inviting. It's a place that suits every occasion, whether it's a casual dinner, a romantic date, or a special celebration.

In a city rich with culinary options, The Savory Grain stands out as my favorite for all these reasons and more. It's not just a restaurant; it's a beacon of fine dining and heartfelt hospitality. Every visit is a reminder of what makes Richmond's food scene so special. The Savory Grain isn't just a place to eat; it's a place to savor, celebrate, and return to, time...

COCKTAIL AFICIONADOS ! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 /5.00🌟! This place is marvelous!

This place is just immaculate. If you are seeking an amazing dining experience for all parties in your party, please look no further than this gem! Very reasonably priced items for great portions and satisfaction.

The staff from lead host to every person involved in creating a wonderful experience works hard to deliver 100% to every guest. As my dining companion and I were filing in, a handful of other patrons arrived and received the same stellar service. I believe many of the patrons were return customers and I can see why.

I peppered my delightful server Catalina with so many questions and requests and she dutifully completed all of my requests. What I must commend Catalina on is her impressive ability to act as a liaison whilst verifying with the kitchen staff and management my inquiries. There is nothing worse than being mislead during a dining experience so I was over the moon with the due diligence of the respectful team of this establishment.

We ordered two cocktails on their current October list and both were impressive. I will definitely return to this restaurant on account of the attentive personnel and due to the complexity/execution of their core cocktails.

If you're looking for refined cocktails with impeccable service, look no further as you've...

3rd and last visit. Absolutely deafening music at Sunday brunch. Shouting at my table mates. Inexperienced servers, no dining room management, inconsistent food, no parking and it's not cheap. During my last visit a piece of "reclaimed art" ie a large rustic window frame with peeling paint, fell off one of its fasteners and was dangling precariously over a 2-top. The server told them it was fine. They set their nervously for about 10 minutes waiting for her to come back and either move their table or fix it. When she did neither they got up and left. Our table was set with smeary dirty water glasses that we had to ask to be replaced, no hurry on that either. My "chicken and dumplings" were cold, gluey and topped with 2 small, stale biscuits. I did not eat it. The server removed it without asking why and was glad to drop a check for full price in front of me. Finally, the last straw: my bloody mary was watery. Bad food, bad drinks, bad service, bad atmosphere, no parking, and expensive. Normally I would feel bad to slam a local business online but since this is the third time I've been there and it was terrible I doubt...

My sisters and I came here for the first time. I love trying out new spots and this one you will definitely enjoy. The atmosphere was so peaceful and quiet. The waitress was so attentive and such a sweet person. This spot we definitely be back real soon Updated information: I gave this restaurant five stars until I found out my two sisters had unauthorized chargers on there cards. The manager took it upon himself to take a tip off there cards for the waitress. Then to top it off the manager was rude and disrespectful when my sister confronted him about the charges. You told my sister if we couldn’t afford we shouldn’t have came. Are you serious Mr.Manager we paid our bill with np. And you told my sister she can’t come back to your restaurant. Well guess what. What you did was stealing and I hope once the word spread you will be fired or they close the doors. Anyone who doesn’t leave a tip please check your account since Mr. Manager feels the need to take from others . You a THIEF!!!

My wife is out of town, so came here alone walking the dogs. Nice patio w a breeze and around 6 tables not encroacing on each other. Perfect. Lizzie was my server, but several came out to offer treats, water, and petting the dogs--too cool. I had bacon-wrapped jalapenos to start--cheap on happy hour--and a prosecco followed by whiskey sodas. For dinner I had a Cobb salad, which was outstanding. The blue cheese crumbles reall stood out, as did the presentation of the egg and the quality of real bacon pieces--not over-cooked and not bits--real squares of bacon. I'm on keto for a diet, so salads and meat are my vlosest friends, but I want to come back for the rest of the menu w my wife when I'm done (began at 223 in Feb and down to 199 now). Great atmosphere, the music piped outside was nice and completed the vibe / ambiance. Great service and I feel like I met most of the staff coming to see the dogs--just such a stellar experience. 5 stars.

Very very delicious! We made a reservation for 7, seated at 7:20. Their cocktails are delicious - tried the First Appearance and the Appalachian - both tasty. Ordered the pork belly and jalapeños to start. Pork belly had an Asian spin, and was very flavorful. Jalapeños were ok - nothing too special. Entrees included the catch of the day (red fish - so delicious - had a really yummy sauce - pictured), bacon wrapped meatloaf (some of the best meatloaf we've had), shrimp and grits (very flavorful, shrimp cooked very well), and the steak (steak was a little tough but overall ok). Loved the atmosphere, though a little loud! Will definitely be back in the future... can't believe this place isn't talked about more... it's a gem.
