First, I would preface this review with the fact that I am a former traveling salesman and have eaten pizza all over the country. I have never had high expectations as pizza is a very regional thing and can be done in many different ways and still be delicious. Also, I generally do not take part in reviews, as we all expect to be treated to at least average or adequate service and food. This is a review that I feel is necessary, as I don't think i've been quite as amazed as I was this Saturday night, and the absolute low, LOW quality of the "House" special pizza I picked up on a "to go" order. Based on the many good reviews and the longevity of the establishment I expected to be pleasantly surprised. Surprised I was all right, and I will begin with the crust. It was styled thin and completely flavorless. The texture was almost like hard, stale bread. It was phenomenally bad. Not a single one of the ingredients had any palpable flavor, or even shape. The ground beef was so fine it actually Resembled a mud paste on top of the crust. The italian sausage was completely without flavor and with the texture of rubber, obviously no thought or care into brand quality. There are several locally owned butcher shops that could supply much higher quality of ingredients than Steve's currently appears to use. The tomato sauce was incredibly bland, with no hint of anything resembling Italian spices like oregano, basil, garlic, or even simple salt or pepper. The"mozarella" cheese was nothing short of horrible, with the consistency of bubble gum and the taste of.. nothing. We live in a cheese state, for crying out loud! And shame on me for ordering double cheese! I simply cannot understand in this day and age, and only by altering the quality of a few ingredients and some simple cooking techniques, that locally owned pizza establishments can't put out extremely good pies, even if cost is a bit higher. Extremely disappointing, and believe me, I would never have taken the time to write this, if the pizza had even only been BELOW average. I think for full disclosure. I should say that I ordered at a time of evening that was not busy at all, and mine was one of only two waiting to be picked up. C'mon Steve's, you can do...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThere is two parts to this, Iāve lived in river falls my whole life! Steves was my fathers favorite place in the whole world, and tbr it used to be mine as-well. But itās simply just Not how it used too be, the phone is ran by a overwhelmingly rude and brash lady thatās is literally in the customer service industry but acts like me asking for my pizza well done is the end of the world. She made my son cry because she actually hung up on him for taking too long to figure out what our entire family needed. She then, premeditatedly undercooked my familyās pizza that we relied on to eat that night. When I have kindly asked them multiple times to make our pizza to be extra well done! Because in previous times ide say āwell doneā and it would still basically be a raw pizza? So the lady who runs the phones and the man who makes the pizzas have really ruined a tradition my father started, and hoped to pass...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOrdered a small Greek pizza with chicken, I questioned the price. The website says $11,30 plus 1.45 for chicken...he charged me 15.19. There was barely any chicken at all...maybe a heaping tablespoon? Many pieces had none. The pizza was soggy. The gyro meal had cold fries, soggy again, with apparently no salt and no ketchup provided. The gyro was a lot of meat, sauce, tomatoes but only 4 small pita triangles, nothing to actually fold and put the meat and tomatoes/onions in...plus they charged extra for extra sauce. The pizza was meh, needed a fork and plate. Heavy with tomato slices, sooo soggy. Just not happy...for $27 plus tip for delivery, I truly regret this purchase. (1 extra star given for gyro meat....otherwise...
