Rich's Frozen Custard — Restaurant in River View Township

Obviously this business is having real customer service problems by reading the reviews and my last few trips to rich's. I assumed my experience was not very common but after reading some reviews it clearly is the same as other customer have already reviewed. In the interest of time I will just summarize. Right to the ordering speaker that was very very low volume. Very difficult to get our order in of a few sundaes and some food items. $58 and some change. First item out the window was a concrete that was overfull enough to soak the employees hand as he passed it to me. Dripping down the outside of my car door as well as the door panel and my lap. I did get a napkin handed to me to clean it up.

Next was a soda (taste was way off). Lid half on and again dripping down the side. This time I held it high and wiped it off in front of the employee as to not get everything else sticky. Next is 2nd soda. You guessed it Dripping. So again 3rd time in front of employee I asked for napkins and cleaned the mess.

We were asked to pull forward so we could wait the apparently standard 20 mins for our food. As my wife and I discussed just driving away and getting food elsewhere, our food was brought out. The employee asked did you have the chicken and stuff? I guess that sounded like our order.

The chicken was definitely cooked in very old oil and most likely for not long enough. My son refused it due to texture and smell of the oil.

To summarize. For the $60.00 trip thru there one soda was drank and half an order of fries were eaten. 1 medium sundae, 1 banana split, 2 orders of fries, and an order of chicken went direclty in the trash.

Will no doubt be the last time I stop at rich's. This is the 3rd or 4th time in a row it has been not great. But I must say this time was too much. Regrets to the changes this business has gone thru in the...

Ordered a chicken sandwich meal, plain single cheeseburger meal substituted the soda for a med shake - $29.29 that’s ok but this better be some good food right? Was asked to move forward and they would bring the food out, 15 minutes later Ranch was like watered down hidden valley - extra runny, diluted flavor. Fries completely unseasoned, no salt, none offered or given in the bag Giant soggy chicken breast with no flavor Lettuce was browning saturated in a flavorless sauce Cheeseburger, completely unseasoned, buns from both sandwiches appeared and tasted like they were just pulled from a week old store bag, they did not seer or coat the bread at all. Overall disappointing. I really wanted to enjoy this meal but I couldn’t even like one bit if it. The price is what drove me to make a review, if I paid $20 for the meal would have just never saw me again. The attendant at the window who brought out the food was very friendly. I don’t think staff is to blame for any disappointment, the disconnect seems to be in the quality of their food and process of cooking it. Me and my family are long-time customers of Riches, going back to the original location on Festus Center Dr.. But what I experienced on Saturday was unexpected. When I was ordering my usual small chocolate malt, that was approximately $4 anytime before, now had a price of nearly $6. This is roughly a 33% increase. I then noticed that every item had a sticker/tape over the old price with a new price. My wife's mini concreate now costs close to $5. I understand that costs increase, but that dramatic of a price increase is sign of greed! Just like in 2021 when Riches was charging a $0.50 surcharge on every order. I stopped going at that time as well. Then the surcharge went away and I returned. But this massive increase is just too much.
