Today, i've made my first trip to this plaza after moving to Riverbank. As I was walking to my car.I saw above a refreshing image.So I decided to enter the pokebowl.
The first thing that caught my attention when I walked in was the way the staff greeted me. Since I am very picky on the process , the staff was patient and were walking me through all their drinks.To help me choose the right one, I thought it was very helpful and very kind on their part.
However, there was one thing I was very concerned about when I was paying.I noticed that when I was going to select the tip.The young lady skipped through it and when I asked her I didn't get the tip.She says we don't get Tips, I said why not? She mentioned the manager does not give us tips.I was very upset when I heard that.That is the most crucial thing anybody can do is not allow the staff to get Tips, So I went out of my way and gave each girl ten dollars. For the building owner who wants this building, it is not fair for staff not to get tips when they work very hard throughout the day.They work warning shifts and nightshifts and do all the handling preparing the food or making the drinks and it's very unconsiderate of them to not let them get any tips please help me spread So the staff can start be able to receive tips. Read moreI recently visited Poke Bowl on a weekday afternoon while returning from a work trip. In a hurry, I placed an online order ahead of time. When I arrived, there was no one behind the counter, but I saw my order sitting out, unrefrigerated, even though it had been ready for a while. Given that Poke Bowl primarily serves raw fish, I expected them to refrigerate orders until pickup. I waited for several minutes, talking loudly enough for any staff to hear. Eventually, I found and rang a bell on the counter. After waiting a bit longer with no response, I rang the bell again. Finally, after nearly 10 to 15 minutes, someone emerged from the back to hand me my food. To my surprise, the person who had been sitting in the dining area the entire time wasn’t a customer but an employee, who had seen me waiting and did nothing to assist. This lack of attention to customers was disappointing, but more concerning was the improper food handling. Overall, my experience at Poke Bowl was disappointing. The poor customer service and lack of proper food handling mean I won’t be returning, and I can't recommend this...
Read moreI typically love Poke Bowl, at least the other locations. But, the Riverbank location is not only disgusting, but it is potentially a health hazard.
The Riverbank location has not been open all that long (About a year) and from the looks of things, it hasn't been really cleaned since opening.
1st, the soda machine had some moldy glob dripping from the Pepsi option. The DR. Pepper had some crust around the nozzle. (See pics)
The restroom door handle area is dingy and likely has never been wiped down. I doubt the restroom door knob is ADA compliant. (See pics)
At least 2 tables were so wobbly I thought kids must have had a WWE style fight and busted them up. (See pics)
Finally, there is no functional central AC. Instead you get a large evaporative cooler blowing moist air around. It's warm and humid are probably not the best climate for raw fish.
