Had many pleasant experiences until tonight. And it sucks because when it's good it's real good! Ordered two dogs on DoorDash. I received 1 bun stuffed with 7 pickles and 100 jalapeños (not an exaggeration) and 1 bun stuffed with all jalapeños. Kinda funny but like, come on man. Drive to store. As I'm walking in with the bag in hand I can see them kinda laughing and smiling. I say haha guys it was kinda funny but let's get these done right. Manager tells his 2 employees to get it fixed and he has to go in the back to prepare a catering order. The nice couple shared with me they also screwed that up and just didn't make it at all. The employees both look highschool age and half stoned. They let me sit there for 20 minutes, I get up and leave to go next door to get food elsewhere for my family. Come back, still nothing. Lady waiting on her catering order comes back over to tell me I should be more stern with them so I grab the manager and he proceeds to ask me the same questions over and over and over. Now I'm certain he's also half stoned. Finally realized I'd lost more money and time in my evening by just standing there. So I walked out and left while I'm pretty sure the manager was standing there still wondering what my order was even though I had told him 5x by that point. What sucks for the owner is that I order hundreds of dollars in DoorDash weekly from his locations all through the state to send to clients of mine. That business goes elsewhere now.

J-Dawgs was an interesting experience as there wasn't a whole lot to their menu but their menu is more showcased in the toppings of hot dogs. The hot dogs are fairly large and have solid flavor, for the price it's understandable and to a degree a desirable price but Costco still beats them in price not quality. The young man that helped us at the checkout stand was very patient and understanding so it was a pleasant surprise as you could tell that he knew we hadn't been there before and gave us time to think for a moment of what was what. In addition, he kept us in the loop about when our meal would be ready as they had quite a few customers in the store too before us, amazing customer service... I unfortunately didn't get his name. The other two associates that were they could work on speaking up and their demeanor (not upset, just helping giving people room to grow). The only thing that was upsetting about the entire visit was the fries as they were horribly over seasoned which each bite of their fries had a chunk/clump of their mixture of spice, it was a little too much for the senses. Cleanliness of the restaurant was definitely shown and welcome and the other issue we had was our table it was terribly unstable and was wobbling around and spilling our beverages. Overall, we liked it but there is room to grow in some areas.

I had never been to a J. Dawgs before but had to try it now that it's opened just down the road from me. While it is a small location, the food is amazing!! I tried a hot dog with their special sauce, mustard, and sauerkraut. I have never loved a hot dog more, the sweetness of the special sauce contrasted really well with the tartness of the sauerkraut. The fries are delicious, they have paprika, thyme, salt, pepper, and spices. For all the people who can't do black pepper, I couldn't even taste it which is weird for me. It was about $12 for the whole meal and they do the fries Five Guys style so it's worth the money. If you are sensitive to pepper like I am, get them to give you plain fries or skip them. As a bonus, if you are a lover of Apple Beer like I am, they have it on tap at the soda fountain.

So I have been wanting some J-Dawg for about 3 weeks now and have been unable to get some because I can't park my big truck in the parking lots not a big deal. However today I have the time and was able to visit the layton location and let me tell you my experience. I walk in to a beautiful clean brand new location I was properly greeted as I walked in from the team members. They were great at I getting my beef dogs because I couldn't just get one I needed two on the grill and a prompt fashion so they're ready to go quickly and then as I'm waiting for that and the corner of my eye I spot something something that I didn't expect to see at a J-Dawg at least at the one here and layton....fry sauce. I was shocked and amazed why would there be fry sauce at J-Dawgs? They don't have fries but wait they did I look over and I see a deep fryer and french fries waiting to be dropped and then I look over and I see what these french fries look like they're seasoned seasoned perfectly they looked amazing I went back around and excitement to go look at the menu and what to my surprise it said french fries on the menu totally oblivious so yes I had to order some of those french fries and let me tell you something they're amazing they're crisp and hot and they are hand seasoned immediately after they deep fry it this isn't like the preseasoned garbage that you get at say Arby's or some other stupid place that does season fries these ones are fresh made to order tosed to order. They're amazing and what makes them even more amazing is when you dip them in the secret sauce forget fry sauce you don't need fry sauce you can get fry sauce anywhere what makes this stand out is these french fries which are perfectly seasoned but not overpowering in the j secret sauce it gives it a little sweetness to it which taste amazing it makes me wish that I got an extra side of sauce when I left but I didn't which is something I will be rectifying on my next visit because I guarantee you I am coming back to this location and or J-Dawgs unless they build one in West valley City which we need here on 5600 West and 3500 South just saying but until then layton store amazing experience amazing staff amazing location just amazing especially since for a moment I considered going to shake shack which is just down the street and now I'm glad I didn't so thank you J-Dawg you...

The dogs are delicious but the lady behind the counter, taking orders, needs to take a chill pill. I’ve been in twice now and she won’t leave me or anyone else in the lobby alone. The order/ prep area for customers to wait is small. The store gets busy. She can’t seem to understand that you can cashier as many people as you want out, but there is no room to wait for food and they can only prep so many orders at one time. She could cashier 100 people out but the staff simply can’t prep that many orders, leaving the people waiting, to stand on top of each other while they wait. She constantly yells at the customers waiting for food telling them to scoot down, so she can cashier the next person through. She literally told me 3 separate times in one visit to move closer to the group in front of me. After the 1st ask, I was already in the pocket of the stranger ahead of me. She asked 2 more separate times after I was already uncomfortably close and got mad at me for not essentially jumping on the other patrons back to make an extra 4 inches of room for her to cashier another order through.

Take a breather and let the crew catch up to the 10 orders waiting before you yell at customers in line waiting to have their food made.

The first time I had ever been in, she treated me like I was a moron for not knowing the menus. At the time there was not a single sign up showing what was even available to order… she needs to be replaced with someone that’s a people person. You can’t have her as the face of the store with...
