I'm going to change my review. Good selection of music at fair prices. There are not many music stores left. There used to be more Graywhale CDs all over Utah and I would travel from Syracuse to Salt Lake visiting multiple stores. I would even go further sometimes on days off work. I also used to go to Layton plus a store near Weber State often after high school. I would travel from a town near Idaho (but still in Utah when I lived there) to Salt Lake or Farmington as much as possible in my 20s. For Your Entertainment is not in the area anymore, but I did find one randomly in Sandy recently. It's too far for visits. There also used to be a music store at Gateway in Salt Lake. I simply ended up with too many CDs, but I recently started getting extra copies so I don't ruin old discs in my car. I haven't traded in forever, and probably won't again. Trade values used to be good long ago, then came digital music. But even Google music on Android went away. Don't know about trades now. I still think if CDs and records have lyrics and artwork, they are better. They do sometimes play explicit music in the store which is O.K. for Adults. I became self conscious about taking my kids. Entertainmart in Ogden is a great store for kids, though it used to be a Hastings and went out of business, but saved. Graywhale is O.K. but sometimes not as kid friendly. Curbside pickup is fast and efficient though, so I might do that more often with my kids. If you don't have young kids with you, and are big into music,...
Read moreI have been coming to this place for years, we are talking 20 plus years, but after yesterday I wont even recommend this place, they made me wait for an hour while they helped other first, I went in there to sell some movies good movies in fact.some how i only left this place with 18 bucks if your looking to sell movies go to a pawn shop they will give you more, i felt like the staff was more interested in getting sale than helping me plus i felt so low balled ill never go back . if you guys are gonna buy movies make a station so one person can work on it while the others help the ones checking out , holidays or no this isn't the first time i was made to wait, they never used to do this, I was there before plenty of other people and at least 10 went before me, its uncalled for. Even when i walked in i seriously had to stare at them for ten min at the counter before some one came to me. and there were two girls that were not...
Read moreGraywhale Entertainment is very much an underappreciated treasure in Ogden. It's a great place to find literally any form of entertainment - be that books, movies & tv, anime, video games, and music. Their music selection is truly their greatest asset - and something that I think the employees are most passionate about. They have a great selection of vinyl records that offer a wide variety of genres. What's great is that there is a mixture of both new and used items - so you can save a buck while also supporting local businesses. The vibe of the store certainly gives off a grunge or punk aesthetic, but don't let that fool you into thinking that you won't find excellent customer service or a variety of products to enjoy. If anything, it makes me nostalgic for youthful days in 2009 where I practically lived with my earbuds in my ear, jamming to screamo and punk. Maybe you'll find a similar feeling when you...
