Michaels — Local services in Riverdale

I don’t normally write reviews but I was quite frustrated tonight at the Riverdale store. I had a lot of items, so after I stood there a while hoping for assistance. I finally figured I would ask for the cashier standing up front talking to a friend is she could ring up my purchase instead of doing self checkout, She acted like it would be a big inconvenience to help me and kept standing there talking to her friend in Spanish. Then when she finished talking with him, she ignored me and asked the person behind me if she needed help with her return. At that point, I started to ring my purchase up myself. She helped 3 other customers while I was trying to ring myself up. I saw the cashier’s name tag and thought about posting her name here, but decided against it. But if anyone at this store happens to read the review her name starts...

I really wish I could have remembered the name of the name of the woman who helped me out on Sunday the 14th of November. She had dark hair and I am thinking she worked out in the store. Not a cashier. It was about 5 pm or 5:30. I was in a hurry trying to find everything I needed to get my house organized and get some stuff to make a memorabilia book for my adult son. She went above and beyond to help me. I really hope she sees this. I tried putting a review up to say THANK YOU! I was only used to buying certain items from there. She really was amazing! It was about time to close usually employees at that time are wanting to hurry up and get out of there to be with their families. I really appreciate her help! If I could give more...

The framing department is absolutely horrible. The manager of the department called us in because they butchered the framing job on the picture we brought in. The manager tried to only show us the glue on the frame that they couldn’t get off, and hide the scratch marks and cuts they made in the painting. When we asked what happened to the painting, she repeatedly ignored the question before admitting “it happens during the stretching process,” and tried to get us to choose a new matte for the framing and ignoring the damage to the actual painting.

They do a crappy job and will try to hide it from you. Make sure to inspect pictures/painting they’ve framed, because they might’ve done irreparable ...
