Mariscos La Riviera Nayarit — Restaurant in Riverdale

Took myself out to try a new Mexican seafood spot. Love trying new food but this didnt make me excited. Walking in, there were 3 girls at the podium but no one spoke or offered to seat me so i sat at the bar. Didn't wanna overkill on 1st time so made a simple order and that wasnt anything to be hype for. They should warn ppl of the salsa that comes with the tostada cuz I drizzled it on the entire thing not knowing it'd burn my mouth off. Nose was running! I like spicy not hot. There were no salsa options so this was their complimentary portion (like rolls at a regular spot). Was slightly avg in taste, lacked that "im def coming back" appeal. If a simple dish doesnt do it for me I won't buy a bigger entree. The tostones weren't seasoned and the dipping sauce tasted like Chick-fil-A sauce. I ate all my food though cuz it wasnt bad, just wasnt great. Bill came to $29 and automatically added $4 gratuity so...theres no need to add an extra gratuity list at the bottom of the slip. For the price point of 90% of their menu I could go to Mr Crabs Hut/Juicy Crab or Papi's Cuban spot and be guaranteed ima enjoy my meal. A lot of dishes said "mkt price" that mimic other places I've been that tell u the cost. Alright, so I just got back from having lunch at this place. I went into it with high expectations but was sadly disappointed. Our server immediately tried to sell us in one of the more expensive market price items as soon as we sat down. On top of that, the food came out at different times and missing specific items. I was not all that impressed with my meal for what I paid. Our sever was not at all attentive to us and a couple of other servers actually brought out our food. Also, there is an automatic gratuity included in the bill which I don’t like either. I did enjoy the drinks although they were a little pricey in my opinion. Also, there are different prices depending on whether you pay with cash or a card. All in all, I’d prefer going to one of the other Mexican restaurants in the area and getting more bang...
