Before I continue writing my review any further let me first say that I have stayed here numerous times over the past year and a half and while the rooms aren't necessarily perfect they are a good value if you have a coupon (available at the visitor's center on the same road as the hotel) and are comfortable. When I did have significant issues with my room the management was willing to help resolve problems I had by reducing my room rate a couple times at check out and even allowed me to use an expired coupon before since I stayed there so often and were welcoming when they recognized us when we checked in.
It pains me to rate this hotel so low since I have many fond memories here, however, after my first stay now that the hotel has new owners I have already had a bad experience. We were booked a handicapped room for some reason even though we did not ask for it and are obviously not disabled and the room had numerous problems including: a leaky shower head, loose towel racks, a dirty towel with a blue stain and curly black hair, stained carpet, and an annoying connecting door which enabled dog barking to be heard very loudly. Also, I was woken up twice by employees rudely trying to enter the room to replace the fridge and to clean the room even though check out isn't until noon (there was no do not disturb sign for me to hang to avoid this).
Although I can look past this many problems if my room rate is adjusted accordingly the new owner would not let me apply a coupon at check out or adjust the room rate whatsoever since "the taxes have already been paid" even though the system is able to do that since I had it done in the past. I would have been happy with even a $10 deduction in the room rate for the problems I listed off to him but he was unwilling to offer anything, not even an apology for the room's unkempt state. The hotel already does not feel nearly as welcoming or friendly as it did before and it seems like where I once enjoyed staying is now a thing of the past and has sadly turned into an inhospitable money-hungry venture. I do not mean to sound racist but it appears most of the staff has already been replaced by the owner's family or friends who are from a very populated country in south Asia. This is fine but if you're going to live up to stereotypes and try to keep every penny you take in then good luck keeping your visitors happy or repeat guests coming back as you attempt to profit off of your crumbling...
Read moreI paid a $30 deposit clean the room before I left. Didn’t even use their towels due to the fact they have roaches spray disinfectant spray on the bed just in case when checkout came the guy checked the room called me and said your refund will be issued in 48 hours. He call back in 48 hours and said ma’am there is a problem trying to issue your refund I will contact booking.com to try to get this issue resolved, but your room is good. I will give you a call back once I get this issue resolved two weeks have went by. I have continue to call and been getting the runaround to speak to a manager. I also do some speaking to one of the employees been told that I had damaged a room. That’s maybe why I did not get my refund and I informed that employee that no the room was fine. He tried to issue me a refund, but due to the fact that I use Apple Pay, which generates a card number it would not refund and I understood that and I informed the guy I can come up there and just get the $30 because it may not refund to my card but let me know what booking.com says I didn’t end up writing a bad review cause no one has yet to contact me back then they want to say I damaged a room which was a lie because it was only me in a two-year-old and we barely stayed in the room. We came in town just to go to a waterpark and I informed them if they could not send the refund due to me using Apple Pay I understand, but just explain that don’t lie and say I damaged a room because that is not the case and one of the employees inform me well that’s the lie. We have to say if your deposit does not come back and I say understood, but that is not the case so please when your manager comes in have them call me to see what booking.com has said Now today they tell me oh we are going to issue your refund. It should come back to your card in 48 hours so I told them OK I will call them in two days. I also recorded the phone call due to the fact that they keep lying and basically Took my $30 which all they had to do was be honest and say hey ma’am, there’s an issue with our system. Could you come up here and just get Cash or are you OK with not getting a refund and will discount you on your next day something no they wanna lie so all people who want to stay here please pay cash deposit or don’t...
Read moreI am thoroughly disappointed (Click my name and select see all photos). Upon arriving to the room, room 254, the AC was already on. Turned it off for about 15 min, and all the funk stuck in the room manifests. The online rate for a non-smoking room was $92 plus taxes and fees. It is advertised that pets stay free. Upon checking in, I was given a smoking room which online was $84, but yet I was still charged for the non-smoking room and paid a rough total of $130. It was explained that when you have pets you have to stay in the smoking room. So this means that this is false advertising and pets don't stay free.
The room is terrible. Dirty walls, floors have not been swept or mopped.. and there is pet food pebbled on the floor and behind the tv as a clear indicator that this room had not been properly sanitized. Someone's clothes in the TV stand. Top of the headboard dirty. Pet hair on the chair. I am pretty sure the markings on the sheets are from the dryer, however, because everything else is off it's just so hard for me to settle. I feel like someone lives in this room. I want my money back. I will never rent or recommend Red Roof hotels. This is a whole shame - I cannot make this up.
Thumbs down on everything.. the star rating is misleading, and now that I've read the reviews, I find it hard to believe that this Red Roof location is making the improvements to the rooms or service as they say they are. I believe the positive reviews are false, and that they are either doing the reviews themselves or offering some type of incentive for a 5 star review. Most reviews have either a 1 star rating with similar issues as I have described or 5 star as if they're describing an entirely different hotel. It's such bad business for this hotel to operate...
