Tonight some friends and I went to Art's for a couple of drinks and appetizer. I have personally been a total of 3 times. However, for must of the group, it had been their first or second time. The last time we came as a group we didn't have any issues. The server was warm and welcoming. We enjoyed the place because it wasn't a typical college bar and a nice place where some coworkers can grab a couple drinks after a rough week at work. Thank you for that environment.
With that being said, our experience tonight with Beau was awful. The only time he approached us on his own free will was to take our order and to bring the drinks and food. After he dropped off our food, there was no check in. No "how are you guys doing" multiple of us at the table had to wave him down or say "excuse me" multiple times before he came over with a facial expression that wasn't welcoming. One of my coworkers had to literally shout "excuse me" at him after multiple attempts of waving him down wasn't enough. Half of our table didn't get a second round because it was so hard to get him to stop and acknowledge us although we saw him acknowledging multiple other parties. We hadn't even mentioned closing out or wanting to leave before he dropped off our ticket without a word. When he finally came back to grab our pay, we asked if we could split it and he immediately rolled his eyes before taking the ticket back to split. He barely acknowledged us while passing out and picking up the slips and didn't say anything when leaving the table for the last time. I understand bad days and possibly being busy, however we found his service completely unwelcoming and quite frankly disrespectful.
We would love to give Art's another try, however today has left a bad taste in most of my...
Read moreThe service is extremely lacking. The place didn't seem busy. We had a party of 8 that was crowed into a table for 6. When our party requested the area that would easily seat 8 the waitress told us it was already reserved. During the entire time while our party was there there was a party of 2 followed by a party of 5 seated in the area that could easily seated 8 that our party requested. On 3 separate occasions when I got up to get the waitress' attention so our party could complete our orders, she ignored me every time. On a separate occasion I held my empty glass in an attempt to get my beverage refilled & she obliviously ignored me again. The 2 times I did get my drink refilled I had to tell her directly. Other parties that were seated after we placed our orders received their food before our party. Our appetizers were brought with our meals instead of before our meals. If I wasn't there to celebrate someone's birthday I would have walked out long before it got to this point. While the food was okay the horrible quality of service will cause me to avoid this place & dissuade others from patronizing this establishment in the future. Do only local regulars have an expectation...
Read moreI’m visiting from San Antonio and I ordered Chicken Parmesan and the chicken was way undercooked. The new owner was there and comped a beer for me and removed the meal. Which seemed ok at the moment. But, I felt he should have comped everything. He still charged me for a salad and a beer I had previously. I didn’t want to make a scene so I accepted the comp. I felt sick afterwards as I had eaten some of it. I simply do not recommend eating at this place. It is expensive and definitely not worth the visit. They need to get their kitchen act together. Oh and no bread available.
*Response to the owner: Your long winded response is definitely not a good look for your personal attitude and business. You cant just own up to the fact that your staff undercooked a chicken parm (It was raw). There is no other way around it. Its not a steak. Where Im from as you put it, I have real food experiences where they know how to cook. If your kitchen was closed...you shouldnt have re-opened it if you could not meet basic food standards. So there is no argument there. I think taking some responsibility and owning it would be the best way to handle a situation where your clearly...
