The absolute worse take out experience ever! A quick breakdown:
Placing the order: When the hostess said it would take 30 minutes, that should have been our clue. When asked, she went on to say that she sometimes has to tell the cooks, who may be out back smoking and talking, that customers are waiting on their food. As well, she has to tell them sometimes that they have to work because she is getting yelled at by waiting customers. Also, the male "manager", asked her to move over so he could use the register to take a large order even though we were standing there and ready.
The Wait: 45+ minutes, and after having to clarify our orders several times, distinguishing between the drivers who were also now waiting, and asking several waiters/waitresses about the status, our food was finally brought out.
The Order: Of course it was wrong (we ordered a Mona Lisa and a basket of fries, with extra fries as one of our orders). As I was bagging it up, I decided to look at it, and I had wings, and cold fries instead of what I ordered). So, I let them know it was wrong and they took the wings and then 10 minutes later, brought the sandwich. I requested that I get hot fries again, as I had already said, and then after 5 more minutes, received warm fries.
I asked to speak to the manager, but was told she was too busy to speak to a customer. Savannah, refused to speak to us (mind you that the guy that was at the register earlier identified himself as the manager. But, I could see at least 5 people in the back joking and laughing and playing around. Between the smoking and playing around, and joking, are there potentially any health code violations at play?
By the way, we threw the food away after all of that, because we were concerned about prep and cleanliness, and then had to go to another restaurant to get food.
I can say without hesitation, that this is the last time we will ever visit a Macado's, at least this particular location. Absolutely the worst experience I have every been through when...
Read moreTerrible, Unprofessional service. I don't usually take the time to write reviews...good or bad. The experience I had tonight compels me to say....Just don't do it. Don't eat here.
I ordered my food online at 5:30 pm for a 6:45 pick up. It was supposed to be curbside pick up, but since it was downtown and parking is an issue, I parked and went inside to pick it up. I waited inside the lobby of the restaurant until 7:25 for food that was promised ready at 6:45. There were about 6 or 7 others waiting for food with me. I watched as guests who wanted to be seated waited 15 minutes before anyone even greeted them.
It really could have been a much better experience had the staff not completely ignored customers who were waiting for pick ups or to be seated. There was literally no one at the front of the restaurant to seat incoming customers or to hand out pick ups. Thus there were bags of food sitting behind the counter for 10 to 15 minutes when the customer who was there to pick up the order was in the lobby waiting for it. I watched one couple walk out because when they finally got their order it was wrong.
Staff were absolutely ridiculous. The young girl who finally handed me my food was rude and non communicative. After I asked to confirm that they even had my order, I was avoided. Finally when I pressed the issue, I was told that they had my order, it was just the "last ticket"
You'd think that since the food was the last to be made that it would be hot when I received it. WRONG. When I got home I found cold fries and burger. It appears that my food sat in the back until they'd accumulated a few orders to the bring to the front...
I got no apology for the late food or thank you. I will never eat at this Macados again. The Macados on Electric Rd. has been a much better experience. Unfortunately, they were unexpectedly closed when we tried ordering tonight.
DO NOT PATRONIZE THE CHURCH STREET MACADOS. They don't deserve...
Read moreI would rate it five stars for the food, however, our experience in the bar for Sunday lunch was less than stellar. My wife and I went just about every Sunday afternoon for many years. They changed personnel in the bar recently and all semblance of customer service has gone down the tubes. I was treated as if I was too much trouble when I told the lady in charge that I lost two credits on the jukebox because I paid for and entered a song that was lost to the ether because the machine had been set to pause and she did not know how to put it right. She finally got it un-paused, but I am still out the two credits. The song was never played. When I told her, she acted like "so what". She was apparently too busy to bother with me. I was already put off by her attitude earlier when she brought the menus and she immediately asked if we were ready to order. We told her to give us a few minutes.... THIRTY MINUTES LATER., .. I gave up waiting and asked to pay for my wife's drink, And left. I did the online complaint thing to the main corp. No reply from anyone in two weeks. I called today to see who was working the bar, and apparently got the manager, Brandon, who addressed me in dismissive terms that lady in question was working the Sunday shift and that was that. I guess he got the complaint and his reaction is to blow off the customer, instead of reaching out to the customer and finding a solution to the problem I believe the MANAGEMENT is at fault that the lady that was put in a position of responsibility and was not properly instructed to go to the manager when she was faced with something beyond her capabilities. If he had half a mind, he MIGHT (read that, M I G H T, want to know the nature of the complaint.) My apologies to all that enjoyed my Sunday afternoon jukebox sets that I played for them. I will miss the good food that we have enjoyed for so many years. "Just to be there" should be changed to "We Just...
