151 Coffee — Restaurant in Roanoke

We were directed here by the local library staff who said it was recommended by a very reliable coffee drinker. Although I can't remember who that was, I have to agree and get more recommendations from them. This place was super cool, not just because of the open air patio. The staff is super friendly and helpful even when asking about where else to check out. Parking was easy, plenty of spaces for parking. Also right on the corner of the highway intersection so you can't miss it. My wife and I ordered different things. She's the coffee person but for coffee even I might order that some time. I got the grasshopper milkshake though and the mint was spot on. I wouldn't have changed a thing. Reasonably priced too. They were on top of cleaning as well. We just had the absolute WORST experience with 151’s next door neighbor Sonic. Received horrible service FROM the manager!! He told us to go elsewhere so we did and chose our favorite place 151 coffee. With only TWO minutes till close, after having a bad experience and heated conversation over at Sonic, they GLADLY took us without knowing what happened with a smile on their face. That right there is an amazing team at such an amazingly delicious drink shop!!! If you come to trying to pick between Sonic or 151 coffee, I would choose 151 coffee all the way. EVEN if you plan on getting food, spend your money elsewhere like an amazing place like 151 coffee which such amazing employees and management! You have our business when it comes to quick and easy drinks...

I really love this place! I have really enjoyed every beverage so far, however I think it's awful the conditions they work in. I stop by almost every morning on my way to work between 6:00 and 6:30 am and their employees are all bundled up and very cold. While waiting for my order I've spoke to a few of the employees on different occasions and they all say the same thing, they have only one heater and it's on the patio. They are only allowed to turn it on if a guest requests it or the temperature is below 38 degrees. Same thing in the summer they have been promising their employees that they will get them tents to stand under but those have been empty promises I really hope management does the right thing and takes care of...
