Chocolaterie Stam — Restaurant in Rochester

Wow. I took my parents to this store on Saturday morning and we were blown away. Yes, the chocolate is great and the ice cream (gelato) is really good too. However, what really struck us was the customer service. We had arrived before they opened, knowing we'd have to wait, but about 30 minutes before they were supposed to open, one of their employees walked into the store, then walked back out and asked us if we were waiting for him to open. He let us know that they didn't open for another half hour, but he'd gladly open for us.

My parents are not easy people to please, and I'm sure they sure tested him, but wow, he never looked frazzled and he answered all their questions with the same respect you'd give your parents. Even when the phone rang in the background, he just ignored it and kept serving us. We will definitely be coming back here in the future. More times than not you feel like a number when you go shopping, that day we really felt like much more.

Oh a side note, chocolate was a little expensive, but he showed us how to save money by buying more chocolate and the ice cream consistency was a little off, but since they weren't quite open yet and he explained that the gelato needed to be warmed up for serving, I didn't feel a need to knock off any points. We'll be back this week for more appointments so I'm looking forward to trying...

This place is BY FAR the place to go if you're looking for ice cream or desserts. Wow! The Gelato was incredible. I tried some other flavors and they were amazing. I got a big dish of cookies and cream mixed with vanilla. I ordered way too much though. The chocolates are the best i've ever had. They have cream filled mice, which is not runny or gross it is actually really thick and has a subtle flavor that is not at all too sweet. The chocolates shaped like corn were my favorite, and the peanut butter hearts. The prices are high, but for the quality of the chocolate it is SO worth it!!! The wrapping was an art all by itself, with a tiny brochure with each flavor so if you give them as a gift that person will know exactly what chocolate they are eating! Although they don't have the "specialty" chocolates on that brochure, which would really be nice. The women working was VERY patient with us. My step dad likes to ask a lot of questions and could get kind of over bearing, but the lady was prompt at patient the entire time. Will definitely be coming here probably every single time I come...

We own Midwest LifeShots Photography and recently had a fundraiser event in which all of our proceeds go to a local family in need. We reached out to Stam after a few others had turned us down and asked if they would be willing to donate some of their products to the families who were attending our event. They IMMEDIATELY got back to us with an enthusiastic YES!! They went above and beyond and donated a pack of medallions to each and every family. As fellow local business owners, it speaks VOLUMES to us when a business not only helps another business but doesn’t even think twice about helping the community. They will consistently have our support....
