Who knows, you might have a great meal, some things are delicious there, but at you eat at your own risk.
Their bread is wonderful, which is why I think I kept coming back after so many negative experiences. I was trying to find the perfect meal to have with their free bread, but I don’t think I’ll ever feel tempted to come back again. 4 out of 6 of my SB’s lunches have been bad to absolutely awful.
The last 2 soups I ordered (chicken dumpling and French onion), despite having delicious flavors, were so salty that I had to throw them away uneaten (I even tried dipping the bread in the soup and just eating the bread but that still wasn’t enough to tame it). Maybe the saltiness was coincidence and the soups were just bottom of the barrel or something.
The last time I went to SB’s I ordered a Greek pasta salad as my previous 2 trips had been the salty soups. I had skipped breakfast that day so I ordered a large portion which I had for lunch and dinner. It was delicious, just like it was the other time I ordered it. However early that evening through the next morning I got incredibly ill, I’ll skip the details on that. Despite not having eaten anything else that day, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and hoped that my getting sick was not food poisoning.
Today I was hungry for bread so I thought I’d give it one last shot. In the restaurant they have signs up saying they post what they’re serving on twitter every day…. Although I’ve never seen a post more than once a week. I always said I’d go more often if I knew they were serving something I liked not wanting to risk another unknown soup. I saw that 2 days ago they posted the only soup I know I like that’s not too salty, and they didn’t post anything new or any changes since, so I went thinking maybe they serve the same thing for a week and that’s why they only post once. I got to SB’s and of course my soup was not on the menu today. So, for the 4th time in a row I left SB’s, hungry, having used 20 minutes of my lunch break to no avail, and angry. At least this time they didn’t take my money too because I just walked out.
Also, my experience with the staff has been mixed as well. Some are very friendly when they take your order, some are just rude. 2 of the times I went they were out of bread. I asked the staff if more was coming out soon, I told them I was fine without it and didn't have much time, but if more was coming soon I'd wait for it, I just wanted an honest answer. Of course they said, yes it's almost done it will be out in a minute. The first time it only took 5 minutes for them to bring out the bread, but the second time I gave up and left breadless after waiting 11 minutes and having used the last of my lunch break.
One good soup and one good pasta salad followed by 4 dreadful lunches does not leave me willing to take the risk on my hunger, time, effort,...

We thought salad brothers was a good restaurant, we visited them many times and were satisfied until one morning my wife stopped by during her break to get soup, upon ordering the soup the bread was not yet made so she asked the gentleman taking the order if he could make some and he said, no problem she told him how many she wanted and asked if it was complementary as it always is, he said of course. My wife sat down and I paid. After returning to the table my wife noticed the receipt and asked why so much, I told her I thought that is what her soup cost, she said no. We called over the gentleman who charged us and asked and he said the owner/manager told him to charge extra for the bread, my wife and I were breathless, furthermore when talking to the owner/manager she told us "she is not a franchise and she can do whatever she wants, what are we going to do about it, and that customers will always come so what." My comment here is please be careful with Salad Brothers they are not ethical will up charge you without telling you and then give a non detailed receipt please save your money and shop at a business that respects its customers, which is clearly not salad brothers! Thank you for your time in...
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised by this little find. Accessible via the downtown subway, which is perfect during the winter, Salad Brothers has very good food with a homemade style, and low prices competitive with the cafeteria at the Mayo Clinic. I think I was most impressed with the friendly service. The gentleman who helped us was quick, professional, and knowledgeable about the restaurant. It became very apparent that this is a staple stop for the locals, who he knew by name, all the more adding to the local charm. I definitely recommend this to anyone in the area, and be sure to grab plenty of bread sticks to the right of the soda fountain (which he was quick to replenish with more straight from the oven when notified they were...
