Back to one of our favorite local spots, Taco Jed in Rochester, but this time for brunch! We’d never tried their brunch menu before, so we had to check it out. We started with their bacon, egg & cheese tacos. Simple but satisfying, with crispy bacon and fluffy eggs wrapped in warm tortillas. Then came the migas, which were packed with flavor. The fried tortillas added the perfect crunch, balanced by soft scrambled eggs and melted pepper jack. The green chiles and onions gave it a savory kick, and the queso fresco and pico on top brought it all together. We also shared the quesadilla, which was stuffed with seasoned picadillo, a blend of cheddar and mozzarella, scrambled eggs, and pico de gallo. The fresh pico tasted especially good dipped in their creamy queso, it was a really great combo. The vibe inside is colorful, fun, and laid back, which is exactly the kind of place you want to linger on a weekend morning. Plus, the owner is incredibly kind and the customer service is always top notch. If you're looking for a brunch spot that brings bold Tex-Mex flavors with a cozy local feel, this one’s a must-try.

Authentic is its middle name. Founder and owner Steve Dunn brought his vision and creation to Rochester on October 4th, 2018. Not surprisingly, on National Taco Day. A cantina style eatery offering up the best in made from scratch street tacos and fresh margaritas. Like the sauces, queso, guac, and pico de gallo are their own recipes and made in house. With nearly a dozen choices one can enjoy the standard #2 Merican, with seasoned ground beef, crema, cheddar cheese, lettuce, and pico de gallo in a fried flour tortilla. Or be a bit adventurous with #6 Flower Child, with cauliflower, pickled red onion, spicy aioli, feta cheese and cilantro in a flour tortilla with melted mozzarella. One can also enjoy breakfast with a choice of ingredients, your style eggs and variety of protein on a warm tortilla. And don’t forget their selection of sides and a full service bar with local and Minnesota tap beers on hand. Counter ordering is your first step into this vibrant, lively decorated establishment with a number of seating arrangements. Venture towards the back and you have entered Jed’s Shed. Eclectic decorated bar with indoor/outdoor bar service, which leads to an open patio with picnic tables and padded chairs and wood top tables. Dining inside is also a fiesta of color with additional chairs and tables, industrial ceiling with string lights. Our lunch of choice was the #3 Pulled Pork with tangy, sweet Achiote pulled pork, grilled peppers, onions, and cilantro in an open face flour tortilla with melted mozzarella on top. Second, was #4 Steak Fajita with seasoned, flank steak, grilled peppers, onions, and crema in an open face corn tortilla with melted mozzarella. To complete the trio we added their own made from scratch cheesy with a bit of heat queso and chips. (Chip refill is free, but not needed for us.) With that we say “La comida era muy buena.” And “gracias.”

Was excited to try this place bc of the unique combination of tacos. Ordered the fried chicken taco, walleye, grilled shrimp taco, and the flower child (bc I saw a lot of ppl rave about it) Overall will say a bit disappointed. The tortillas kept ripping without the whole tacos falling onto the plate. The grilled shrimp taco is misleading bc it seems they just warmed up shrimp without it ever touching a grill. The shrimp is bare and not seasoned. And there’s an overwhelming amount of cabbage where I thought it was a cabbage taco instead. The fried walleye was alright but nothing special. The fried chicken taco had the most flavor to it, and is what I’d recommend there. The flower child was a disappointment bc there was way too much mayo where it overwhelms the other flavors. Wish there’s be less mayo and more pickled onions. But the cauliflower got a nice crunch to it. The queso is actually p good and thick!! The chips are also refillable with is a huge plus. Chips were warm, salted nice, and had a nice crunch. Unfortunately, didn’t see the extra salsa flavors at the pick up bar to try, which I believe would’ve made the tacos better. Also didn’t know the chips were refillable till I asked.

It does have good taco's but sometimes when you go there they are closed when they are suppose to be open, also went there last night 10/6/22 and while I stood inline to order the lady at the cash register was arguing with another employee and didn't stop when I walked up and I stood there for five minutes while she belittled the employee not cool I left will never go back after listening to the casher talk to the employee the way she did. A few days later I went in and asked for the manager I told her about my experience she was flabbergasted and couldn't believe what I told her and assured me she would take care of the issue and that she appreciated me tell her this. I have been back several times and they now have a nice lady working the cashier who is so polite, I also had a conversation with the owner who was a down to earth guy and he explained that since the covid stuff they always don't get their orders like they should and that is why sometimes they are not open. maybe I was wrong to post as fast as I did and give them a bad review, but I really like their taco's and they have showed me they wanted things like that not to happen and they corrected the problem so I give them a 5 star because the TACO's...
