So one of our worst restaurant experiences ever. We eat at Steak N’Shake all over the US when we visit places as we don’t have in Canada.
We walked in & we were placing our order when the older lady/manager rudely advied the restaurant closes at 10pm & we need to be out so they can clean. We finish pacing our order and get our receipt at 9:33pm, go to get drinks and grab a table and they literally blocked off every area except a dirty table. I asked the young man that was cleaning if he could clean the table he looked at me placed the cleaner and rag on the counter and went back to what he was doing. My husband asked for another table as there were 5 of us for a 4 person bench. They didn’t care so then I advised again the table was dirty, finally it was cleaned. Went to get my sweet tea and there was noneso I asked as I don’t drink soda. The drive thru had was still open but yet none. I finally opted for lemonade and couldn’t get more than 1/2 bonfires that was out too. We proceed to sit down & wait for our meal. It came out at 9:49pm & didn’t come out on a tray, but came out in a bag, maybe that was a hint to go eat in our vehicle? Burgers were messy & buns were covered in the condiments. They literally the whole time we were eating made us feel totally uncomfortable & reminded us again the restaurant was closed. In the end I finally asked the person that cleaned the table if the older lady was a manager and they advised they both were. I advised maybe it would be best to not allow people to order after 9:30pm and stated time our tickets printed & time food came out & said it was the worst experiece we’d had & that the behavior was actually appalling. I will report this to head office, doesn’t matter if it’s a franchise or not it’s a reflection on the brand that this can happen. It’s people that manage a restaurant this way that will wonder why they have no job in the future. Clearly neither of these people should be on managers in the hospitality business.
I would never recommend this location to anyone.
We travel a lot in the US and just came from Florida where we had many amazing conversations with lots of staff at various restaurants. Ate on our way through Georgia and had fantastic service there too, as a matter of fact this particular restaurant will seat you up to 5min before closing and never make you feel rushed. Not that we’ve ever done that, but we have been in the restaurant after close time with many other customers on...
Read moreWorst dining experience of my life; service was so bad. The meat on the 3 sliders, aka "shooters", were more comparable to crackers than patties of meat. The waitress said they were that thin because they split a burger in half to make the sliders. I'm still trying to do the math oto figure out how you can have 3 halves of a single burger, so if anyone can figure it out, please let me know. The chicken sandwich was inedible because of the goopy and chewy texture. One of the waters at our table had something floating in it when it was served. There was a hair in my fries, butI have fairly long hair so I pray that it was mine and not the fry cooks. Along with that, they were cold and they tasted like they had been sitting out for a while. The waitress we had was very uninterested and seemed brain dead while we were trying to order. The manager was saltier than the fries; she treated her customers badly and her employees even worse. When our party walked into the restaurant, she said to everyone that she was short staffed and there would be long waits with an attitude of "I'm telling you now so you can't complain to me later". At the table next to us, an employee forgot to bring out silverware so the manager shouted to her across restaurant, "You don't eat salad with your hands, bring me a fork... like yesterday". The only reason they even deserve 1 star is because the manager told a waitress to not rest fresh food on a dirty table with all of the trash on it, because I guess that's not common sense... Point is: NEVER...
Read moreI was not impressed. I spent $58.12 on 5 meals and they came with small fries and small drinks. Quite expensive. I asked for 3 cups of chili and they gave me these small 1 ounce sample cups. I wanted chili cheese fries which they no longer serve so I ordered the cups of chili to just make it myself. I don't get why they don't serve them if they have all the ingredients right there. Told the girl in the window those tiny 3 sample cups wasn't going to make 3 orders of chili cheese fries. She didn't seem to quite understand, had to explain it 3 times. Finally she told me to put up and she'd bring me a bigger cup of chili. As I waited the manager came out to give his woman a milkshake. I had to sit there and stare at him and his woman being affectionate right in front of the door. He wasn't worried about being on the clock at all. He could have brought my chili out with him. Would have taken maybe 3 extra seconds when he came out with his woman's milkshake. Plus why does she get free stuff while customers are sitting there waiting for their order to be fix? Not classy at all. That managers priority should be the customers. He's on the clock. Take ice cream to your lady when you go home. And we don't need to watch her rub your face for 10 mins. Super weird and uncomfortable to watch. Plus since I waited such a long time for a cup of chili, my small fries were ice cold when I got home. I thought the new ownership was a good thing....
