Jax Pub — Restaurant in Rockford Township

Since ownership, personnel, decor, and menu have all changed, I deleted my previous four-star review and I'm creating a new one. I've been here twice since the ownership change a couple months ago and it keeps getting worse. Any familiar faces are gone. In fact, the servers today were different from the servers that we had 2 weeks ago. I get the idea that people are not sticking around here anymore. That usually tells a lot about how things are being managed. The menu is different and not in a good way. Some of the items that we tried ordering off of the menu were unavailable because the ingredients were not in. Ingredients like any bread other than white. Our server was really sweet and she was trying hard but she kept having to run back and asked the kitchen if things were available. It got pretty ridiculous. The food was decent, but nothing special. Went to the AYCE fish fry that was supposed to have cod, walleye, and haddock on the menu so we ordered myself the Haddock my son wanted Walleye and my wife Cod. The waitress comes back five minutes later to tell me their outta Haddock so I ordered Walleye another 5 minutes she came back to tell my wife she has to order cod by the piece that their not offering AYCE cod today which is strike 2. We ordered the 5 dollar drink specials with Tito's my wife's drink was really weak so we let the waitress take it back so she returns with the drink that was topped off and gets the thumbs up for a better drink. We also ordered a round of Halloween special drinks which where tasty. We received the bill to find out none of the drinks came to 5$ and they charged my wife double on the first drink because it was weak and additional fees for mixers!! Had the waitress tell me that she would go inside and "see if there was anyone who WANTED to wait on me". This was after we waited 18 minutes AND watched her come out and bring beer, food and check on the table that was one table over from ours. There was another couple sitting on the other side of us that also had not been acknowledged and they heard what she said to me. They got up and left the restaurant. My guess, they won't return. No, we are not young, we were not abusive, I wasn't even angry. We had waited almost 20 minutes and she had come out to serve a table less than 10 feet away and never so much as said hello. But the comment of seeing if anyone would want to wait on me sits very rough on my nerves. I will be talking about it loudly and for a long time. And, yes, I did try to speak to a manager.
