Wammy's Kitchen — Restaurant in Rockford Township

The food was sooo good. It was worth the wait. Had never been and not from Rockford so the drive was longer than usual. They handed out numbers because we got there early but nobody followed so everyone just got in line in whatever order they wanted to. All the staff were very pleasant. Just needed a better order when it came to lining up,ordering, and then paying. It was bottlenecked the entire process. You could hear many people complaining about it while in line. We spend a few hours total just in line and then a additional like half hour because we dined in.The amount of food and choices was so good. Had a wonderful experience at Wammy's Kitchen. Service was great. I liked the ambiance. It felt like I was at a Sunday dinner. These ladies were so hospitable and making sure everyone had whatever they needed. There was a little wait time; but hey you shouldn't rush greatness. The food was excellent, hot fresh and most of all delicious. I visited there with my two nieces. They both had the chicken wings and fries. I had the fried steaked catfish, coleslaw and potato salad. The catfish took me all the way back to the 70s when my granddad used to have the best fish frys. I highly recommend Wammy's Kitchen for your soul food experience! I can't wait to get back there to try the rest...

Food was good but very unorganized. Poor customer service and poor time management.The place open at 11am and didn’t start serving food till 12:20pm. Poor execution from the workers having lack of knowledge on what needed to be done and how to do it. For example; The menu stated 2 meats and 4 sides but was not able to get two lamb as my meats. Fish wasn’t available and had to be special order ( Was not mention, nor did the workers know) else I would’ve ordered the fish ahead of time while I was waiting the hour 20 minutes to be served.
