($$) three stars off the bat for environment, location and service. The service was prompt and efficient, if not friendly (I ordered TOGO). The atmosphere is typical of a sushi place - utilitarian and decorated in cultural accents. The sushi boat moat that travels around the main dining bar is a nice touch. I made my selections from the 50% discount menu, a trend among sushi restaurants in this part of the country. I tried the Roseville roll, the Guru roll and the River Cat roll - each roll less than $8.25 for a total of $25 and change for the 3 rolls. As someone that lives in San Diego and has fresh fish all around me, this place was head and shoulders above any other place I’ve tried. First of all, the restaurant was supremely clean and smelled great! No fishiness detected.

The people were all friendly and prompt. Service was fast. I had the salmon and albacore nigiri and they were amazing! Huge portions and tasted so good!! By and away the best sushi I’ve had anywhere. My friend had some of their rolls and those were equally good too. Their menu was very large and prices were decent too.

I will be back here every time I find myself in Sacramento. The restaurant may look small and nondescript, but it is well worth the visit. You’ll be thanking yourself...

I love sushi and have eaten at 100+ sushi restaurants. I read the reviews before I came to make sure it wasn't going to be marg. The only negative thing I saw mentioned was that the rolls were too large to fit in mouth. I scoffed. I take pride in jamming massive sushi rolls in my mouth. I ordered 2 rolls and ramen noodles. Food came out within 11 minutes (all). Ok so no lie the rolls are 25% wider than the widest rolls ive taken down. But absolutely delicious and super duper fresh fish (Sunday night). Would come anytime I was in the area. This place is legit. I think they used to have those badass boats the sushi traveled on but had to close it due to covid....
