I recently had a truly nightmarish experience with this dealership that I feel compelled to share with others. My ordeal began when I decided to purchase a new, 2023 Nitro 21 XL Pro boat from what was a seemingly reputable dealership. What should have been an exciting and enjoyable process turned into a costly and frustrating ordeal that left me feeling utterly scammed, defrauded, and taken advantage of. Upon contacting the dealership, the boat I had been eyeing online appeared to be in pristine condition, exactly as advertised in the pictures that were exchanged with their employees to me on 3 different occasions. The salesperson was friendly, knowledgeable, and assured me that the boat was in perfect, pristine condition, with no hidden issues or damages. I trusted their word and decided to move forward with the purchase. However, my joy quickly turned to dismay when I was trying to arrange for pick up of the boat. Brianna was shocked I was picking up the boat the next day because āthe gel coat repairs werenāt finishedā. āGel coat repairs?āI dishearteningly asked. Immediately, my heart dropped to my feet as I sat in the financial institution minutes away from picking up my cashiers check to purchase my dream boat. Iāve worked hard for years to see this dream through, I thought to myself. Were it possible Brianna was confused? Maybe she was confused on the boat I was purchasing. I asked for clarification⦠Maybe the sales team was playing a joke on me since every time I called, and I might have bugged them a little too much, I inquired about the condition of the boat- āthereās no damage and itās brand new? Everyone is staying 10 feet away?ā I would half-joking ask the voice on the other end of the line. I was always met with the same response- āitās brand new, no damage, has never left the show room floor and is in pristine conditionā. Well, Brianna let the cat out of the bag. I was devastated to learn that the boat I had spent a month trying to acquire in my dealings with Rocklin Bass Pro and Cabellas Boat Shop had major gel coat damage. Even worse than the devastation over hearing my new boat was damaged, I was shocked to learn that the dealership was sneakily repairing the gel coat in an effort to conceal the damage and did not disclose this to me at any point during our dozens of conversations. I voiced my dismay about being scammed to Brianna, who spoke to the manager. The manager offered me a measly $150 Bass Pro Voucher if I continued with my purchase of the boat at the original agreed on price; mind you, the agreed upon price was for a brand new, un-damaged boat that was in pristine condition. ā150 dollars for weeks of stress, a ding on my credit for the inquiry I had to go through for the purchase, the loan I just finalized, the insurance I just purchased to fulfill dealership requirements, and the time I spent in my dealings with them to find out I was being defraudedā, I thought to myself. Absolutely not. This entire experience has a left a bitter taste in my mouth and shattered my faith in bass pro. To anyone considering buying from this dealership, I implore you to think twice and do your due diligence. Do not make the same mistake I did by trusting their smooth talking salesperson without written verification of the boatās pristine condition. The dealershipās deceptive, fraudulent tactics and refusal to take responsibility for their unethical actions by resolving the issue has caused me immense stress and financial strain. I sincerely hope that this will serve as a cautionary tale for others, urging them to be vigilant and cautious when purchasing a high-value item from a dealership that prioritizes their profits over the customerās well-being and over ethical business practices, like Rocklin Bass Pro and Cabelaās...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have mixed feelings about this review, and buying a firearm from Bass Pro. I plan to never buy from them again.
Iāve been trying to find a specific rifle. Bass has an advantage with their buying power. This is the largest benefit of using them. I ordered it online. Transferred from another store. The emails told me I could pick it up when it arrived but their whole system is broken. I had to start DROS. The emails say a lot of incorrect things, you have to be ok with that.
First time I went into the store the first person I tried to interact with was TERRIBLE. He wouldnāt make eye contact and just pretended I wasnāt there. The counter was empty at this time.
Eventually I was able to get some attention. The second interaction was great. He was very patient, explained the process thoroughly.
But this is where things got weird. The rifle box didnāt look new, had a tear and their process it to tape it between each part of the transaction. This sucks if you want to save a box in good condition.
The receiver was smudged all over, the rifle didnāt really look new. Problem is their lighting is not great for inspecting the condition. The next step is they retape the box for when I come back. The associate told me they will use a different color tape.
When I came back after dros, the box was taped but not a different color. The woman who then helped me to receive the rifle was not great, or terrible. She was just curt and I was rushed thru the process. Then I went home.
At home I spent some time cleaning all the smudges and fingerprints off the rifle. Then with proper lighting I could see the damage.
This is where things really sucked⦠the rifle was obviously handled and absolutely not new condition. I have not put any cartridges thru this rifle yet, or dry fired it. The hammer had a mark that is obviously the rifle has been dry fired. The feeding ramp has smudges of brass, someone had fed cartridges through the rifle.
The worst is there is a scratch at the front of the ramp on the receiver. This looks like someone slipped while trying to insert a cartridge into the side gate. This one really made me sad. Itās on the stainless and canāt be buffed out and keep the original finish.
I was originally going to give 2 stars because of the positive experience with one of the associates. But the bottom line is that Iām super bummed out and would not purchase a firearm from Bass Pro again.
See photos of damage.
UPDATE: I made a complaint to Ruger about how I received my rifle from Bass. They asked me to send it back to them on their dime so they can review my concerns. They refined the rifle back to original spec.
If presentation is important to you, find another FFL to make your purchase. I recommend highly not to make a firearm...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIF YOU ARE A WOMAN I DONT RECOMMEND COMING HERE. Today I experienced the most traumatic and oppressive behavior from a sales associate at the gun counter. I went in to look around at fish, buy a hat, and get a boresighter for my dad. I of course have no idea where to find a boresighter or what it is, just that it looks like a bullet, So I went to the firearms counter hoping to seek guidance and advice. They instructed me to wait in line. I did for a long time. When the man at the counter finally helped me (after he ignored me, and help another man who cut me in line) he āhelpedā me. But I wasnt sure exactly what I was looking for so I just showed him the screenshot of the item my dad sent me. He helped me find it and then proceeded to walk me to the ammo counter. He showed them to me and I picked some out (not knowing there is a procedure and a background check and that you had to have a gun etc.I was just there to grab something for my dad. I was lost and trusted his guidance and advice when he ushered me to the ammo section, However, as soon as we got to the counter, and I gave him all my info, he started berating me like I was a child in trouble telling me it got rejected and asking me personal questions regarding the reason for purchase, which I had told him previously was a purchase for my father. Instead of professionally informing me about laws and what to expect, he used this as an opportunity to degrade me to nothing more than a dumb woman. He then accused me of lying. WHAT?!? I showed him the picture and previously explained it was for my father, what do you mean im lying?!? He at this point was yelling humiliating me in front of other customers and employees to the point where I just walked away in tears and checked out at the front with the rest of my items. I went back in to let their managers know. They were nice and reassured me that what he did was not Ok. My intention was never to break any laws or rules, the whole time leading up to him bullying me I felt like a deer in headlights trying to understand everything he was telling me. He knew I had no proper information to buy ammo, and used it as an opportunity to bully me, and yell at me THE CUSTOMER!!!I was simply there just trying to help my dad out. it really scarred me, and I will forever have PTSD from being DISCRIMINATED against as a woman and embarrassed. I DONT THINK I WILL EVER SHOP HERE AGAIN AND IF YOURE A WOMAN I suggest TAKING YOUR...
