Rocklin Shopping Centers: Rocklin Commons & Rocklin Crossings — Local services in Rocklin

I live in the area and, unfortunately, shop at WalMart a lot because it is the closest grocery store. I have watched this shopping center grow from just WalMart to what it is now. THIS SHOPPING CENTER IS RIDICULOUSLY O-V-E-R B-U-I-L-T. Many bad marks to the designers: the dangerous traffic circle, the confusing turn-offs and streets (very narrow and stupid), and totally ill-logical and dangerous placement of stop signs. Whoever had a hand in designing and approving said design of this place should be publicly stoned until enough stones hit their heads and (1) knock some sense into them, and/or (2) give them the moxy to stand up to the developers and tell them "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH". The trend these days is to squish as much retail space as possible onto each piece of commercial property being developed. But.......IT DOESN'T WORK!!!!!! It didn't work in Natomas, and it doesn't work here. Take a look at Roseville--they seem to have gotten it right. THIS PLACE IS WAY WAY OVER-BUILT. My God, you wouldn't even know there was a Green Acres back there unless you did...

Rocklin is the hidden gem of the foothills!! Quaint and historical. Fun for the whole family. If you think Rio Linda is fun, wait until you get to Rocklin! First is lodgings. The Rocklin Gardens on Sierra Garden Rd is the best. Based on the Motel 8 style it will not disappoint! There are several lovely Bed & Breakfast lodgings. And of course the Rocklin Library for those who just want a quick nap. As to entertainment just try the Finnish Temprance Hall. Which is also very historical. The children will love the two roundabouts on Rocklin Rd! Just round and round all day and it's FREE!! The high point of any visit is of course the food. First and foremost is Arby's! Located on Rocklin Rd near the I-80 off ramp. Believe me, they have the Meats! Not to be missed are Dennis's and of course Jack in Box. Something for everyone!! So if you are looking for a fun filled weekend on the cheap you can't beat Rocklin. Also known as the Gateway to Loomis!! The fun is just...
